New TableGen backend for debugging
I certainly agree that there are a boatload of CMake options. I haven't even scratched the surface. In keeping with your suggestion: Is there a way to tell Ninja to build just one target machine? SambaXP just (virtually) wrapped up.
Just wanted to say a big *THANKS* to everyone who attended this years virtual SambaXP conference. SerNet did an amazing job of changing from the usual on-site in Goettingen conference to a virtual-only online event. The talks were recorded and should be available soon (I'm sure they'll let us know when) from the SambaXP site. I hope everyone enjoyed it, and now I have a boatload of work

R CMD INSTALL with configure args
Dear R People: I have a question, please: I want to install a package from R CMD INSTALL and I have a boatload of configure args. I want to put them into a file. How do I point the R CMD INSTALL to that file, please? pxelinux: unable to boot from local disk
Hello, on a somewhat recent machine (Dell T1600) I'm unable to use my usual setup (pxelinux as a boatloader also for local OS - typically windows). The BIOS is capable of using UEFI, but this is turned off. Unfortunately all I get is a message telling me that pxelinux is unable to boot from local disk. The config entry looks like this: LABEL local MENU LABEL OS installed on local disk LOCALBOOT 0 I...

Chainloading from Vista x64 bootloader to Extlinux?
...s thread" and was wondering if someone knowledgeable would know if the points brought up in that thread is the underlying reason that I couldn't boot via chainloading from the Vista x64 bootloader? Being able to chainload Extlinux (preferrably w/ext4 support of course ;) via the Vista x64 boatloader would be awesome, since I'd much rather use Extlinux. Also, it'd make the dual boot part of the Foresight setup much slicker. If this is already possible then I apologize for missing the memo. Btw, I should probably mention that this is my work laptop and that the reason I'm not using...

Klibc 1.5.4 build issues
I'm working with klibc as a part of trying to port LTSP version 5 into Red Hat 4 and 5. Red Hat does not appear to have a very good set of utilities for playing in early userspace like LTSP's boot process requires so I thought I would try klibc since I could then base my port more closely on the Ubuntu/Debian work. Problem is I can't seem to get klibc to build against the RHEL 4

prompt to update a host key
As far as I can tell, there currently isn't a straightforward way to use password authentication for connecting to hosts where the host key changes frequently. I realize this is a fairly niche use case, but when developing software for devices that often get reimaged (resulting in a host key change), it can get pretty tedious to attempt to connect, get a warning, remove the old host key via

parallel I/O on shared-memory multi-CPU machines
Dear ext3-users, I write scientific number-crunching codes which deal with large input and output files (Gb, tens of Gb, as much as hundreds of Gygabytes on occasions). Now there are these multi-core setups like Intel Core 2 Duo becoming available at a low cost. Disk I/O is one of the biggest bottlenecks. I would very much like to put to use the multiple processors to read or write in parallel

Cheap PoE switches/injectors?
I'm trying to spec out hardware for a new office, and I'd like to include power over Ethernet as an option. I've seen a handful of PoE injectors around $1000 for 24 ports and a couple switches up around $2500 for 24 ports. Are there any cheaper options, short of buying a boatload of 1-port injectors off of ebay? I don't really need more then 24 ports of PoE out of 48 total

Charset used for text subtitles?
Hi! I have a question about the proposed text subtitles for videostreams. I suppose this is more about the ogg container format than about theora, but since it's theora that has come to push such a feature I put my question in this forum. The question is whether all contents will use unicode charset by default, or if charset will be disregarded? Because as an example, in the xine video

Cleaning up the Wiki...
I have installed captchas on the user account creation page, and hopefully cleaned up a bunch of spam and blocked spammers. However, there is a metric boatload of accounts many of which look random. If you have a legitimate account on the Syslinux Wiki, please put a line or two on your User page; I'd like to eventually go through and delete all the spammer accounts. -hpa

Animated Cursor Support
Is there an easier way of getting animated cursors rather than having to re-compile the whole thing? I'm referring to Command & Conquer 3. I got it to work, but just no animated cursors. The patching referred to in this article: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7440 gives me errors. So back to the original question.
