Hi: I have a data file in the following format. The first three digits stand for the ID of a respondent such as 402, 403. Different respondents may have the same ID. Followed the ID are 298 single digit number ranging from 1 to 5. My question is how to read this data file into R. Need way to resize an existing graphics window. This should be applicable across platforms (as part of a package). Dear R helpers, MyPkg passes R CMD check on Linux machines. However, when I 'R CMD check myPkg' on Windows, the libs subdirectory is not being created. If I install the package and then create the libs subdirectory manually and copy the dll files to it, the package seems to work fine (but that's not good enough for submitting it to CRAN). Hi R-Community: Here is what I want to do: Every time I start R I want R to: 1. remove(list=ls()), and 2. "source" another file automatically. Then, when I shutdown R, I want R to: 1. remove(list=ls()) How do I do this? I recall vaguely that S could do this, but I don't remember exactly how it worked. Thanks for your help! Phil Smith

I'm writing a package that successfully calls Java from R using rJava. When R sends my Java function bad data (through .jcall()), I get the error message details (when I run it on a console) and then: Java requested System.exit(1), closing R. Is there a way to call .jcall so that when Java receives bad data, the Java function will exit, but won't take down R with it? Thanks, Sigal
