Disallow folder delete
Is there a straightforward way to disallow the deletion of all IMAP
mailboxes?
I have a user who's deleted an important IMAP mailbox and I'm now
recovering a recent copy from the backup. But I'd rather just blanket
disallow all folder deletions.
The user is using Thunderbird and this has happened more than once so I
suspect Tbird is willing to let a folder get deleted too easily.

RTL8111 Wiki Pages
Howdy,
It appears that CentOS 5.2's support for the RTL8111B/C chip is incomplete.
The wiki has some blanket statements regarding this support:

I could dive in an make the changes *I* think need to happen but I'd like to

[LLVMdev] [3.5 Release] Branch Policy
Hi Developers,
This is to clarify which patches may be merged into the 3.5 branch.
* All doc changes may go in. In fact, you’re encouraged to update the branch's ReleaseNotes.rst file! :-)
* All non-documentation patches should first receive approval from the appropriate code maintainer. (A blanket approval is acceptable for the first phase of testing.)
* If your patch fixes a major bug,

inconsistent error messages on Mac OS X
Hi All,
I am one of the contributors to the FastR project (
https://bitbucket.org/allr <https://bitbucket.org/allr.>) and I have
encountered an interesting issue when trying to implement vector accesses
within FastR. I am trying to understand what kind of error message should
be generated for the following expression:
x<-1:4; x[[1]]<-NULL; x
In order to determine the error message,

3510 JBOD ZFS vs 3510 HW RAID
Hi there
Is it fair to compare the 2 solutions using Solaris 10 U2 and a commercial database (SAP SD scenario).
The cache on the HW raid helps, and the CPU load is less... but the solution costs more and you _might_ not need the performance of the HW RAID.
Has anybody with access to these units done a benchmark comparing the performance (and with the pricelist in hand) came to a conclusion.

ip6tables equivalent for NAT?
with ipv6, you just allow the specific ports destined to the specific local
machine(s) in on your WAN side, they don't need translating. same sort of
rule as if you had a internet-facing service running on the routing system

Mailing list guidelines and moderation
Hey Guys,
I am looking to put together a set of guidelines for posting on the
CentOS Mailing Lists. The aim being that we come up with a framework
that is then enforceable by a moderator, should the need arise.
Blanket user / thread moderation is something that I dont really want to
enforce here - but might be a necessary evil, over a short period of
time. End of the day, we are all educated

upload file in a database or a server?
Hi,
I would like some suggestions. I''m wondering if it''s better to upload a
file directly into a database or to put the file into the server and
keep the path in the database?
Thanks,
Eric

Question about BIC of two different regression models? how should we compare two regression models?
Hi All,
In order to compare two different logistic regressions, I think I need to compare them based on their BIC values, but I am not sure if the smaller BIC would mean a better model or the reverse is true?
Thanks a lot,Andra

CBC radio's science show archives Ogg
...dition to mp3 and real. This is
the first CBC show that I am aware of that offers their archives in
formats other than the usual real/wma/qt.
For those who don't know, CBC is Canada's only national public radio and
TV network. Quirks is heard weekly on Radio One (which quite litterally
blankets every corner of the country) and on shortwave via Radio Canada
International.

Hi all,
I''m a relative noob to rails so I apologize in advance for asking such a
basic question.
I am trying to do multiple AJAX calls using the link_to_remote helper or the
JavaScript generator update_page. I have googled and read the docs for
both, but can''t seem to figure out exactly what i need to do.
Say I have the following html:

Newnotsyn Behavior
Hello,
I''ve been doing some tests on a firewall system running Shorewall 1.4, and
have been getting some unexpected behavior when enabling the "newnotsyn"
option.
In the test setup, I have:

/etc/shorewall/interfaces
net eth0 detect routefilter,tcpflags,blacklist
loc eth1 10.0.0.255 dhcp,tcpflags,newnotsyn

you realize Digital Ocean is a rather large virtual private server
provider? wikipedia says they host over 190,000 sites, and last year
surpassed Rackspace to become the 4th largest hosting provider.
