Neverwinter Nights Update ?
Hello all I have just purchased NeverWinter Nights Platinum Edition which consists of the original game plus Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark. The installation is at version 1.63 and I have been trying to update to version 1.69 by means of the patches downloaded from nwn.bioware.com. These patch files are about 300 Mb each in size and are called NWNEnglish1.69OrigUpdate.exe NWNEnglish1.69HotUUpdate.exe NWNEnglish1.69SoUUpdate.exe If I try to apply these patches by cd to .wine/drive_c/NeverWinterNights/NWN and type wine filename I get the reply You cannot use this patch...

[Dragon Age Origins] Official DLCs "Unable to load area"
I have a Steam version of DAO + Awakening and have had no troubles with it up until now when I've bought some DLCs from official bioware store. For any DLC I bought I'm getting "Unable to load area" error right after character creation or importing (or, in case of "Leliana's song" --- right after "Play" is pressed in "Other campaigns" menu). Its a very popular error on PC/Xbox, but th...

[LLVMdev] Relocation issue with jump tables in ELF object files on X86_64
...a RIP based instruction. If a real linker doesn't patch the instruction, does the ELF loader always try to load .rodata segments in the low 2GB of memory regardless of if it is from the main image or from a shared library? Mass Effect 2 bug 23135
...therwise) and if so, are you using a dual core cpu? Mine is an AMD am2 6000+, and I have trouble with bug 23135, Mass Effect 2 hangs/crashes after Sheppard is reanimated. Dan Kegel is thinking of closing the bug under suspicion that it's a game glitch, now a wine problem, and some posts on the bioware forums seem to back him up. I am thinking of upgrading to an AM3 955, but first I'd like to know if it'll have any effect at all. Also, I am running an NVIDIA 260 video card, and Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit. Thanks. I'd post on the Bioware or Lucasarts forums, but as soon as you mention linux...

Anyone out there running Dragon Age:Origins on SNOW LEOPARD?
Im currently working at it, and got as far as being able to resume a saved game, but only for a few seconds before it crashes. You can see my full progress in the AppDB. Since, despite many helpful posts, there doesn't seem to be anyone actually running it on SLeo over there, I was just wondering if ANYONE has been successful in that task, or if I'm the only lonely wanderer in the dark...

Need help with difficulty loading page www.bioconductor.org
The page is either too busy, or there is something seriously wrong with access to this page. Most of the time, trying to reach www.bioconductor.org results in failure. Only once in a blue moon, do I get through. In fact, thus far, I have not been able to install bioconductor, since the first source(...) command from the R command window -- following instruction on www.bioconductor.org page,

Hi all, Installed NWN and it plays kind of choppy with no sound. I then wanted to uninstall it but it keeps giving me a 0x800000 something or other fault. it seems to have brought all the gibbly goop from windoze with it. How can I uninstall it? I can't even find where it installed to so I can manually get rid of it. TIA, Chuz

Re: Problem with wine creating folders on installs
..." "invalid" characters in a Asian or other non-Latin language somewhere that the install is falling over-- I've had this happen to me in Windows more than once and it could be that Wine has inherited that bad behaviour. Wouldn't expect that from Jade Empire-- isn't that a Bioware game?-- but the other two I'm not familiar with, and tbh, you never know. But in any event, as a temporary workaround I would suggest that since you know what the folders are meant to be called, h2sammo, why not just create them ahead of time in C:\Program Files and see if you can install t...

BG 2 shows "List index out of bounds (-1)"
Hi, I'm trying to run Baldur's Gate 2 from Bioware here; I installed natively under Windows since the installer would fail. I've been using winesetuptk on a Debian unstable system with latest Wine packages; before starting, I purged my previous wine setup and my user files so I would get a clean start. The winesetuptk found my native Win95 par...

Dragon Age dlc issues
...is always showing up as unauthorized. I'm pretty sure the dragon age updater service is running, it just can't seem to see my account as being authorized to use the dlc. I have in fact bought a couple of dlc's such as Warden's Keep and Return to Ostagar. When I'm logged in, my bioware points total does show up, but no content in any of the three tabs as per the bug on the appdb page. When I install a dlc offer package, it shows up in the available downloads tab, but it shows up as only being available to buy. If anyone can help me sort this out, that would be fantastic. I'v...

...tion text. I have installed Awakening by following these steps: 1. From the install unrar the following four files: ep1_campaign.rar ep1_core.rar ep1_en.rar ep1_vo_en.rar 2. these rars will extract into folders, you need to put these folders into the appropriate location, either in Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Addins folder or packages folder. For example ep1_core goes into packages, ep1_en has some files that go into packages and others that go into Addins. 3. go into AddIns/dao_prc_ep_1 and open manifest.xml and copy the appropriate text and put it into AddIns.xml. My computer is a Core 2 duo, Wine version 1.0 This same setup ran the game before I ripped out Windows and switched to Ubuntu. Black (transparent?) Screen - wine 1.3.34
Hi, I'm having some issues with multiple games running under Wine, namely the GoG versions of Age of Wonder and Baldur's Gate. Both of these are listed on WineHQ as compatible, but I'm not having the same luck. If Compiz is running when I start the game, I get a black screen, but the game itself is obviously working, as the game music is playing and I can hear menu buttons pressed
