Can ONLY log in as root-console perms problem
...a second that looks like it might be the same one approximated
above.
I saw a series of messages from someone else saying he had to back out to the
previous kernel, apparently because of a NVIDIA driver issue, so I tried that
and it made no difference. He also suggested adding "pci=noacpi pci=biosirq"
to the grub boot command, but the thing wouldn't even boot when I tried that.
so, this must be some other problem.
This is centos-4 32-bit xi6 on an Athlon XP 2600+, Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2
motherboard that has been running either Tao or Centos for 2 1/2 years.
Advice would be appreciate...

Screaming Interrupt error and hang.
...e with a Gigabyte
KT600-based motherboard with VIA SATA interface. After plugging in the SATA
drive and rebooting (since libata doesn't yet do hotplug), I get a hang after
seeing an 'irq 10: nobody cared! (screaming interrupt?)' error.
I have done the kernel command line 'pci=biosirq' and 'acpi=off' suggestions,
I have disabled USB, disabled everything that the BIOS will allow. Nothing
at this point is sharing IRQ 10 with the Sil 3112 controller. I think it is
the latest BIOS version for that motherboard. No matter what I do, it issues
the screaming interrupt...

need to load uhci_hcd with acpi=off
...he *hci_hcd error on a system in my home,
but on this machine reboot runs fine also without acpi=off.
Seems I need acpi=off, but I need to load *hci_hcd to get access to the
usb-ip-kvm-keyboard.
What I tried:
- thousands of BIOS IRQ/PnP parameters => no luck
- noacpi => kernel panic
- irq=biosirq => no change
Any more idea to get the IRQ with acpi=off parameter set?
Best Regards
Werner
