How to set up an own package repository
Dear List,
I'd like to set up a package repository so I can use install.packages() on
it for home-grown packages. I set up an AMPP infrastructure on a windows box
already, but I'm pretty lost with respect to what to do next as I didn't do
any web-programming/admin yet. Could anyone recommend some r-specific
tutorials or has a couple of suggestions for me? I've had a look at the

organisation of packages & CRAN
Hi,
I?ve been using R on and off for a couple of years. I think R is pretty great but one thing I?d like to see improved is the way packages are organised. Instead of CRAN being a long list of packages having a short & usually unintelligible name I ?d like to see packages organised in a hierarchical way with that path acting as a hierarchical namespace just like you have in many other

Searching for packages for normalizing Metabolomic data
Hi everybody,
I am a beginner in the steps of pre-processing and data analysis of non-targeted metabolomic profiling experiments.
Anyone knows if there exists some tool for normalizing this type of data (raw data or XCMS matrix data)
in R repositories? Many thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Núria

Bioconductor AND Genetics Library
I am aware of the R Genetics Project that developed the R library and
software called Bioconductor (http://www.bioconductor.org/ ) . How do the
two relate to each other? What is the one that the other is not and vice
versa? Can anybody link me to something that answers the question?

Saludos,

trouble installing building packages from source using R 2.6.0 on Ubuntu Gutsy AMD64
I have recently upgraded to Ubuntu Gutsy and, for the first time, am
using a 64-bit installation. After failing miserably to install R from
source, not a problem for me in the past with a 32-bit install, I went
the route of using the Debian Etch build. This went smoothly, but I am
unable to update my numerous R and BioConductor packages, getting
non-zero exit status errors on each package. Is
