Bynari Insight connector
...d Bynari has some
promising specifications on their website, I might want to try their
product.
Does anyone here have any experience with their software? Would you
recommend it? Or maybe point me at alternatives? (If there are any.. aside
from ditching Outlook of course :-P )

like: my IceCast server is 6 hops far from me and when my connection

The only thing I kinda missed was a recording level control. The only
control alsamixer is giving me, is the pcm playback level. So you'd have
to make sure the audio you send to it is somehow sane.

Yes, I'm behind ADSL with PPPoE but I don't think it is related with my

Additional "icy-burst-size" header ?
Hello,
I have a request for an additional header.
This header is needed to inform the client of the burst it is going to
receive.
Why ? This header could be very usefull for the streaming-client to have
an idea of it's delay, and (much more important) to be able to do
early-on streaming.
The question is not on how to implement this in code (probably send the
header in the

convert non-standard mbox to maildir
Hi,
Let me start with wishing you all the best for this new year, and I hope
we'll see a lot of new features and not so much new bugs ;-)
I'm trying to convert a number of PSTs to maildir. Just plain drag&drop in
Outlook doesn't work (gives a very cryptic error message in a certain
folder, but that folder is perfectly all right), and using the import
option also barfs when

Can I get rid of the fchown log messages?
Hi,
Since upgrading dovecot version (from somewhat ancient to 1.2.16), I see
messages in the logs like these:
Jan 15 00:55:17 srv0303 dovecot: POP3(obm03): fchown(/home/obm/obm03/mail/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index.tmp, -1, 8(mail)) failed: Operation not permitted (egid=1033(obm), group based on /var/mail/obm03)
I know that this is because the mailbox in /var/mail has ownership
username:mail.

...distinct folder (and thus not mbox-design).
Even worse, both folders foo/bar and foo.bar both get the filename
.foo.bar
Maildir++-setup is broken by design in several ways.
That's the problem with Maildir++. Appending smileys doesn't help.

Shortcomings of Maildir++ layout
Hi,
I am trying to deal with the problem, that under regular mbox format a
path can lead to either a file or a directory, but not both, while under
IMAP, a path is usually both, a message folder containing subfolders.
I found dovecot's approach to this problem, the Maildir++ layout
described under http://wiki2.dovecot.org/MboxChildFolders , and was
astonished to see, what problems come with

Fallback stream not preventing a disconnect
Dear Philipp,
I've compiled it from source on my raspberry pi, and replaced the binary
from the synaptic package manager with the compiled one. Everyting is
working fine now, it seems that there is indeed a "faulty" package in the
repository. I don't know who I should contact to get this fixed?
Anyway, it works, but while using ogg as output stream from mopidy, I get a
delay of

Windows Xp / Icecast 2.3.1 / Oddcast 3 / Crap Router?
Ok here's the deal. I set up Icecast and Oddcast, got them to communicate
properly, but cannot access the live audio remotely. On other computers in
the LAN it works perfetly. Currently I operate wirelessly behind a D-Link
514 router (a mite outdated by now, yes?) and have opened all necessary
ports, turned my firewalls off, set this computer as a DMZ, pretty much
everything I can think of -
