It should have been? Says who?

minor(? ) Grandstream phone issue
I hate to bother the list with this potentially minor issue but....
I just wonder if it's a symtom of some other problem.
Every time I make a call the BT-102, with the latest firmware, she just
keeps the LED display lit and the timer counting after hangup.
I check the CLI and the hangup is being executed, I certainly was concerned
it might be keeping the line open but that doesn't seem

Ranking within a classification variable.
Suppose I have a data frame with two columns ``district'' and
``score'' --- score is numeric; district may be considered
categorical.
I wish to append to this data frame a third column whose entries are
the ranks of ``score'' ***within*** district.
I've tried fiddling about with tapply() and by() but the result is a
list whose i-th component consists of the ranks of

Rails 4.1.0.beta1
Hohoho, it''s Xmas time, kids!
We have a beta full of goodies for everyone who''s been nice this year.
Rails 4.1 is packed to the gills with more marvelous real-world feature
extractions, bug fixes, and the tireless polish only a community full of
Rails elves could bestow it with.
While this is just a beta release, it''s arguably a lot better tested and

unable to move temporary installation of package
A) Don't try to "move" packages from one library (=directory of installed packages) to another.
B) Although R Open is very close to CRAN R, it has some differences that you REALLY NEED TO READ about at their website. Pay particular attention to the checkpoint feature in this case. Note that troubles installing it or with the MKL are probably off-topic here, though R language

Problems with adding Windows printer drivers to a Samba box
Hi all!
Here is an interesting problem:
I have installed Mandrake 9.0 on two server boxes, both of which are
running very happily and have been for a year now (and a year or two
before that on earlier versions of Mandrake). I was able to successfully
add printer drivers to one of these boxes (as it was the only one
running Samba at the time, called MAIN) without any problems.
Yesterday, I

unable to move temporary installation of package
Thanks Jeff,
So I initially when I got the computer moved my old packages into the new directory rather than downloading and installing them again. That was fine. I then just did a test to see if I could write in the folder and indeed I can. Just not via R.
I uninstalled R Open, installed R 3.4.4, and the problem persisted, including just running it from the R console rather than from R

PHP Web interface for Asterisk
ok guys I have a PHP GUI that will be great for both of you. direct
editor to the whole file intact OR click to go to an extension. I will
post a link to it tomorrow morning... as soon as I can get it off my
production server HEHE.... it can do CRC checks on the *.cnf files
and it will allow you to edit and parse out for you all your config
entries with complex cnf files and default sample

unable to move temporary installation of package
I'm running Windows 10 / R Studio / R Open 3.4.3
Since getting a new computer recently I cannot install packages into my personal libpath directory, and I can't seem to update packages (it says all packages are up to date even if I manually install an old version). I've got 100% admin rights on the computer and in the library folder, I've set my R environment variable to specify

Perhaps someone here will see something useful if you post the output of the following function calls:
sessionInfo()
.libPaths()
file.info(.libPaths())
and the verbatim (copied) error (in context) that you are seeing.

MVC and modules. Views telling models to behave
I was thinking today, it would be nice if a view could tell a model how to
format it''s data for that particular view.
Kind of like, the view is bestowing instant, and temporary knowledge on the
model for the duration of the views run.
It seemed to me that this would be more objecty than say a helper that
formats a string
format_my_string( my_string )
Instead, in my view. Lets assume I have a Building class that has a
phone_number field
At the to...

Are linux distros redundant?
I know this much, Scientific Linux shutting down?....is a definite sign!
(And I've loved SL from my first foray into Linix....in 2002!) sad to see
my "personal favorite" as a server OS going away ?. I mean ...I guess I
should be happy that CEntOS is still here...(for now?) but what if "Big
Blue" decides to swallow up "Code Red"?...wonder where that would leave me

Web interface for Asterisk
Hi everybody,
I've been tinkering with a web based interface for Asterisk. I tried to
stick as closely to the current configuration format as possible. The
web interface should help to do things a little easier (sort by
extension, context, do bulk changes).

Feedback appreciated!

getent passwd/group not returning AD users password information on RH9 Samba AD Member Server
Hello.
My goal -
Single Sign On (quite lofty, hmmm?) between my Win2K AD Domain
Controller, which holds all the user accounts information, and my RH9
internet gateway/mail server which uses qmail as MTA. I also want to
achieve having users in a remote office (several states away) to have
the same domain controls applied to them - i want to deploy Samba on as
a Domain Member Server. I would like
