C-index and Cox model
Dear all R users, I am building a Cox PH model on a small dataset. I am wondering how to measure the predictive power of my cox model? Normally the ROC curve or Gini value are used in logistic regression model. Is there any similar measurement suitable for Cox model? Also if I use C-index statistic to measure the predictive power, is it a time-dependent value (i.e. do I need to calculate it for

offlineimap with dovecot and sieve
I have a dumb question, is it possible to use this combination: Synchronising a remote IMAP-server and a local dovecot-IMAP-server by offlineimap (with both types = IMAP), which works very well. But it seems, that my sieve-scripts on the local dovecot server are not recognised by this combination. Is there a good debugging way for this? -- Dieter Faulbaum Elektronenspeicherring BESSY II

best way to combine results from two tables
...9;t a join. i''m looking for something like this: Table 1: Sheep Name, Age, Farmer, etc. (sheep specific columns) Table 2: Cows: Name, Age, Farmer, etc. (cow specific columns) For my display I nneed something like this: Farmer Jone''s Livestock: TYPE NAME AGE Cow Bessie 2 Sheep Fred 6 What''s the best way to do this in rails? I considered creating a view in the db and doing it there, as well as doing selects from both tables and combining the results in a controller. I think I can just dump them all in one array since they answer the sa...

Schoenfeld Residuals with tied data
Dear all, I am struggling with calculation of Schoenfeld residuals of my Cox Ph models. Based on the formula as attached, I calculated the Schoenfeld residuals for both non tied and tied data, respectively. And then I validated my results with R using the same data sets. However, I found that my results for non-tied data was ok but the results for tied data were different from R's. How

Apply weights to the Efron Approximation
Dear all, I want to apply weights to my sample data set and I am struggling with the Efron Approximation with weights. I have got one sample data shown as below: customer week arrest fin age race weight 1 weight 2 weight 3 1 20 1 1 27 1 2 15 2 2 17 1 0 18 1 2 19 1 3 25 1 1 19 0 2 20 1 4 52 0 1 23 1 2 5 1 5 52 0 0 19 0 2 11 1 6 25 1 0 19 0 2 26 1 I applied four different weighted Efron

Can't disable chroot to 'empty' dir, but need to... how to do it?
Hello all... I've installed dovecot on my ISP's shell server, and am using SSH tunnelling so that I can retrieve my mbox-format mail from procmail-processed mailboxes on that server (normally I just ssh there and read them locally with pine, but now that I have a phone with an IMAP client, I wanted to be able to read it more easily there). The problem I'm having is, although it's

the files when you attempt to rename it. This is caused by Window's Media Player loading the file when you click on it. To work around this I had to go into Windows Explorer and change the folder options from "Enable Web Contents in Folders" to "Use Windows Classic Folders". This way, Windows Media player won't load the file when you click on it. Just trying to save

books on Time serie
A time series text with a title that seems designed to hide its wide scope is: Forecasting with Exponential Smoothing The State Space Approach Hyndman, R.J., Koehler, A.B., Ord, J.K., Snyder, R.D. Springer 2009. This book is actually an excellent overview of time series theory, ARIMA as well as state space. It is of course, in part, a manual for the forecast and other packages in what has been

offlineimap with dovecot: file-time is one hour in the future
I use offlineimap to sync my remote IMAP-server with my local IMAP-server (maildir format). But I don't understand this behavior: every new mail in the INBOX has a file-date which is one hour in the future. Is this 'normal'? Is this a problem of offlineimap? I tried this debugging (for dovecot): mail_executable = /usr/lib/dovecot/rawlog /usr/lib/dovecot/imap and this (for offlineimap):
