Samba as PDC and BDC on the same network.
...(windows 2000 and XP) are authenticated by the BDC.
I don't unterstand why it's working like this !! The PDC becomes the
master if I set the domain logons option to no.
Thanks.

It seems that the init values (start=) may come not to be suitable while bootstraping. Data can be sent offline to whom wanted to

Any hint welcome!

hierarchical partitioning
Dear all,
I am trying to model variation of distribution of species assemblages
according to environmental variables. For that I use a log linear
multinomial regression.
In order to select variables that mostly discriminate the assemblages, I
tried to apply a hierarchical partitioning protocol to my data set.
For that I have adapted the all.regs() for multinomial model.
The problem is that I

Even if as it is mentionned in the help page of mda(), "the 'weights'
argument need never be accessed", do you think it's possible to avoid
this duplicated sampling?
Thanks in advance for your ideas,

## Approach 2: loop on k2
output2 = matrix(0,nrow=n,ncol=k2)
pt2 = proc.time(for (i in 1:k2) output2[,i] = rowSums( m1*m2[,i] ))
## Same result

Can anybody give me a hint?

substring if value starts with a character
Hello togehter,
i have a litte problem to convert a data.frame. My data.frame looks like
this one
A
1 R5000
2 R4800
3 R4700
4 3500
5 3800
I need now a command, which outputs all the numbers, without the character
in front.
The solution look like this one:
A
1 5000
2 4800
3 4700
4 3500
5 3800
Thanks.
Best regards. Mat

writing polygons/segments to shapefiles (.shp) or other A rcGIS compatible file
The main limitation of the shapefiles package that I put together is that it
does not create shapefiles from R objects - rather it only writes shapefiles
that have been read into R and manipulated within the constraints of the
existing file structure. By this I mean that for example you can change the
coordinates of points and write them back out. Or you can add a bunch of
blank columns in the
