Ices2 / Icecast2 / Long connect and no sound
Hallo, I'm trying to run two seperate live audio streams on my Redhat 8 box. I've got two sound devices that linux (begrudgingly) acknoledges. I can get Ices2 to run off of the onboard sound solution but there seems to be alot of interference, however, when I try to use the PCI-card (a C-Media chipset) it takes a lot time to connect from a remote client and there is no sound coming through at all. I've checked all mixe...

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
...nd if there were no alternatives to the Shoutcast DSP, then maybe the answer would be different, but that is not the case... the shoutcast style mp3 metadata is a bit different however as there is really no other alternatives to providing metadata for mp3 streams. And believe me, it was added begrudgingly (as Mike will probably attest to).... oddsock <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe'...

icecast2 is a broadcast server and will broadcast both ogg vorbis and mp3 streams. This assumes that you have a source client which can produce an ogg vorbis and mp3 stream and send it TO an icecast2 server. With mp3 streams, shoutcast mp3 metadata is supported, however you cannot use the shoutcast DSP as a source stream to an icecast2 server. Current clients that we know about that can

Content Rotate, unwanted flashing on IE.
I just wrote a stupid little JS object to rotate DOM Elements (mainly images) using Prototype and Script.aculo.us as support. Everything seems to work well on IE and Firefox Linux but on FireFox Windows I am getting a slight flash prior to transition. I was wondering if a effects guru could take a quick look and see if anything jumps out. I can live with the flash for my current project but
