Best way to implement?
...t is... Just for learning I''m trying to build a little real estate listings application. Of course there is the listings model which will store basic information like name, price, description, and all that jazz. I''m to the point where I want to figure out how to handle number of bedrooms, garages, heat/air, and stuff like that. I''d like to present those as dropdowns with options in the admin and then of course show the value when viewing the listing. So how do I do it? I see that I could extend my listings model out to have something like bedroom_id in it and then have...

OT: headless fanless silent 2 HDs micro server/pc...
Hey, A bit out of topic but I am looking for a micro server/pc if anyone knows a descent one... I found many nice NAS but I would like to have full access to the OS (install CentOS, etc). Dream one would be - Very quiet (fanless) since it will sit in my bedroom. - Headless - Small. - 2/3 HDs (2.5" are ok) for RAID1 (hardware RAID would be nice, and with BBC even more).- 1 or 2 GB NICs - USB3 or ESATA would be nice... - Price would not be much of a problem (maybe no more than $1000 though). Random thoughts: - a shuttle PC with 2 HDs and a real RAID...

I've come to setup Voicemail now, but when I dial the extension with VoiceMailMain, I see: -- Executing VoiceMailMain("SIP/pettit-bedroom-9964", "@pettit") in new stack == Auto fallthrough, channel 'SIP/pettit-bedroom-9964' status is 'UNKNOWN' The call immediately fails. I also tried getting it to playback the demo message, but it does the same and falls through. It appears Asterisk is unable to...

Please help with advise on wine storage
Hi everyone, I have a small problem. I bought a bottle of red wine from my home outside the UK. It is a gift for a professor who I much admire. Unfortuately I have not been able to get to her office in the last month so I had to store the wine in my bedroom. It is in a box etc and of course I am storing it lying down however I am worried that with the current weather of having 20 - 25 degrees outside in the last 1 -2 weeks, the wine might be gone off now. I would like to give this as a gift but of course I don't want to give a gone off bottle. Sh...

System Time
...really struck a very sensitive system time nerve. This large response was a bit of a surprise and included a bunch of time related horror stories.? It became clear why using an RCC chip on motherboards would NOT be a good idea. GPS network time servers seemed to be a preferred choice. All of our bedrooms have Radio-Controlled Clocks. At 5:30 this morning, half of the clocks displayed the correct time. The other half of the clocks were incorrectly showing a time one hour ahead. Maybe this is one more piece of evidence to reject using an RCC time base for computers, at lease in thestate of Arizona.

Auto-assign CallerID for all my FXS Interfaces
As far as I can tell, in order to have caller ID show up for calls from other internal phones, I have to set the caller ID on each channel in zapata.conf. This is tedious, and redundant (since Asterisk knows which extension is making the call, and it could look up the name from the voicemail configuration--if the extension matched the mailbox). Is there a way to set the caller ID for these calls

Silence Beeper => Which small UPS's actually support it?
Hello, I'm looking for a UPS that the beeper can be silenced with nut via ups.beeper.status variable for a HTPC close to bedrooms. I have googled extensively and there is not a lot of information about which UPS's actually support this feature. There are few references to UPS's that apparently list ups.beeper.status as being available, but without actually being software configurable such as: http://www.75...

filtering "tags" via checkboxes - HABTM
First post/newbie post... bear with me. What I''m trying to achive (music site): A system containing tracks and moods with a HABTM relationship. I''ve got all that set up and functioning in the admin environment - i.e. admins can apply a variety of moods to a particular track via a series of checkboxes. Join table works just fine. I''m currently stuck on allowing
