Possible Dahdi compile problem
I am having problems with system crashes in a dahdi/asterisk compile.? The is on a Beaglebone Black running Debian 3.8.13 kernel. Dahdi is patched and asterisk is also custom so this must be compiled from source. I believe I have the proper header and source files for the running kernel. Both dahdi and asterisk compile and install. When run asterisk runs for anywhere from 10 minutes to a...

First of all, tinc should not have any problem handling mixed endianness. Also, most ARM systems nowadays are running in little-endian mode anyway. Debian on a Beaglebone Black sure is, I don't know about FreeBSD though. > The ARM box says: > > [root at beaglebone /usr/local/etc/tinc/wdl]# tincd -D -n wdl > tincd 1.0.24 (Mar 8 2015 14:55:57) starting, debug level 0 > /dev/tun0 is a Generic BSD tun device > add net 192.168.254.0: gateway 192...

Can you try copying the tinc configuration from the Beaglebone to an x86 machine, including the public and private keys, and run tinc on the latter? If it then runs fine, then there is indeed a problem with tinc on ARM FreeBSD, if not then the problem is with the private and/or public key. > Here is my tinc.conf > > [wynkoop at beaglebone /usr/loca...

Convert Asterisk Appliance (AA50) to "Open" Asterisk?
Hi All, Thanks for all of the help I've been given in the past and info I've picked up from this list over the years. I have an "official" Asterisk appliance (the AA50) running my PBX at home (we previously also had an AA50 in a satellite office-that one was recently retired and replaced with Asterisk running on commodity server hardware). Anyway - the AA50

I'd just go with one of the other embedded boards that are not much more expensive and will actually get you sensible results. BeagleBoardXM BeagleBone with Audio cape Olinuxino A13 ... I hear there is a new BeagleBone coming that might actually have all on board for a price in the ballpark of the oA13 board. USB audio combined with embedded hardware (and especially the RPi with its known problematic USB) is a recipe for sub par results. Che...

Using NUT to signal an appliance
...will automatically allow the subsystem to use the functions and features of the UPS.” > > Is there a known way to *send* APC smart signaling to an external device from NUT? While it would theoretically be possible to emulate an APC UPS over USB, you would need an embedded system such as a BeagleBone Black which implements the peripheral side of USB, versus the host side that PCs have. There is also the possibility that the NAS software is sending different USB requests than what NUT uses, so that could be interesting to debug. You could also check with the apcupsd.org <http://apcupsd.org/...

AM335x ARM Cortex-A8 performance drop opus 1.1
Hello!, i've just compared the 1.0.3 release with the master branch on a BeagleBone Black (AM335x 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 with NEON floating-point accelerator) and Arch Linux ARM. At the moment I dont no why, but I see that 1.1 is much slower in encoding. Are there any default changes, that I missed and could explain this? Normaly I suggested a better performance with 1.1 and the ARM...

Subsequently, until I unplug and replug the USB cable, I'm geting a shorter debug output, like this: Network UPS

I don't mind answering questions, though. > > IMHO, the quickest way around the macOS USB mess is probably to run the driver on an embedded Linux or FreeBSD system (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone), and have the iMac connect to the embedded system as a slave. This has the disadvantage of adding another potential point of failure (or two, if you count the network) into the system, and there is a potential issue if the Mac is asleep when the power goes out, but if we had more frequent power f...
