Restricting access to [homes]
...;s serving Windows and Mac clients. I want
to restrict the [homes] share such that users can *only* connect to
their own home directory, and not make read-only connections to other
people's home directories.
For example, on a Mac, if I connect to my Samba server with:
smb://servername/bbonds
and then authenticate myself as:
jgiambi
(password)
I'm given read-only access to bbonds' home directory.
/var/log/samba/log.smbd shows:

Desiring to set up Windows Vista and Linux Fedora Core 4
Greetings!
Tonight is unfortunately the first small bit of time I've had to even
try to get Samba configured between my Vista and my Linux FC4. (My mother
as well as my extremely limited home time dealing with important things
are my main delays.)
It's not going well. :-)
I have added hosts allow with 192.168.1 and 192.168.2. I have
experimented with a few things. I

Desiring to set up Windows Vista and Linux Fedora Core 4 Samba; brand new subscriber
Greetings!
I am a brand new subscriber to this mailing list. I will try to be
kind and humble, and I would appreciate if anyone reading this could offer
to help me set this up, I would appreciate it.
First, let me tell you what I'm trying to set up. I recently got a
new Windows Vista computer. And, I'm running Linux Fedora Core 4, and Sun
Solaris 8. I am desiring to get the
