Final Fantasy VIII works, but sound choppy.
Hey Folks. I've been playing FF8 in Linux the last few days (Software Rendering). Don't think it ever worked accelerated in windows either, though (GeForce card). The graphics keep a fair pace and everything would be good, if it weren't for the choppy sound. It seems to make a smal pause about once a second or so (when I'm lucky, the music plays without interruptions for 15-30

Battle.net problems
I have Starcraft working and would like to know if it is possible to use the Battle.net multiplay interface? I am using fsgs (client/server) to redirect battle.net to my own machine. This appears to work nicely (others can connect, and my local starcraft connects as well). There are some problems with the graphics, though. There are no fonts at all, making it very difficult to see what

spec''ing views, mock_model associations
I writing a spec that returns the count of how many players in a game: it "should how many players in a link to all players" do render :partial =>"games/game", :object => @game response.should have_tag(''a'',"(2) Players") end I''m not sure how to do the mock model, I think it would be done two ways but unsure of the syntax: 1: add

I can't see anything when entering battle.net in StarCraft
Hi, All! Maybe anybody deals with problem similar to the subject? I've used versions of Wine from 20001202 till 20011004. System: RedHat 7.1 + XFree-4.1.0 Under newer versions of wine I can play StarCraft (BroodWar 1.08b) in windowed mode (without DGA support - with DGA I've got an frozen screen and must to kill X server). Older versions supports full-screen accelerated mode with DGA and

I have tried reinstalling the game, reinstalling wine, installing an older wine version and disabling the sound emulators. Wine 1.3( Battle of the Immortals)
I'm pretty new to Wine and Xubuntu, and one of the main reasons I downloaded Wine was to properly run Battle of the Immortals. Im sure it was confirmed playable with Wine but every time i try to open the launcher it patches, and opens pretty normal but the login screen and probably the game also ( never got past the loading screen) suffers from unbearable lag and frame problems. Im pretty sure

Major Samba Battle
I've been here before but I'm still battling with getting Samba to work right with my XP Pro clients. In a nutshell, when I try to access a share, it asks for a username and password. I enter a username and password and it simply goes right back to the prompt, asking again. This is when it's set up as a domain controller. I should note: I CAN join the domain. I DO have my

Diablo 2
Hello, I have wine version 20031016 and I was so pleased that wine + diablo 2 LOD 1.10 + Battle.net actually worked !! But now when I want to enter battle.net (or any game that is) with the true game.exe (i.e. not the cracked one) the game gives me a segfault. I've tried --debugmsg +all but that didn't give me much to work with :/ Does anyone know what went wrong ?? It plays just

Playing Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition
Hi all, I have a simple question (I think). I unearthed a copy of Warcraft II: Battle.net edition, and got a surge of nostalgia so I installed it. I have an Intel iMac running Snow Leopard. I was able to install the hybrid disc using Wine Bottler. (I mounted the Windows side of the disc via Terminal.) Now, when I hit "Play Warcraft II" it says that it can't find a file in the disc,

"battle for middle earth II" demo fails to install
Hi, i try to install the demo version of "battle for middle earth II" with wine-0.9.26, but without success so far... 'WINEDEBUG=+all wine nzd_bfme2demo_english_final.exe' gives a rather short log (172ko) but probably too large to be sent to the list. A snipet of the very end of the log says : 0009:trace:nls:WideCharToMultiByte cp 0 L"Invalid parameter\n\0000" ->

Starcraft with Battle.net
Anyone here ever get Battle.net to work in Starcraft? The apps db is not very helpful, and I can't find anything recent anywhere else. I did see you have to disable FreeType to get it to work in Cedega, and I've confirmed that works - unfortunately I can't find how to do this in vanilla wine. Anyone have any luck? Starcraft really needs multiplayer goodness. Mike

Battle.net SystemCheck doesn't send data
Hello, I've been trying to setup my beta profile account for my Battle.net account using their SystemCheck_enUS.exe. It runs fine, you accept the terms, the information seems fine, you click send but then it returns that it had a problem sending the data. Terminal ouput: http://pastebin.com/BnXk6Qib I would like to report it as a bug but it said to post here if unsure (which I am). I've

Do you think it would look cleaner?
I was looking over some of my specs. I was thinking that the following: @game.should_receive(:name).and_return(''The Battle for Blaze'') @game.should_receive(:people).and_return(5000000) @game.should_receive(:activated).and_return(true) Would it look cleaner if I could do this instead? @game.should_recieve_and_return( :name => ''The Battle for Blaze''
