Best way to implement?
So I''m new to all this Rails stuff and this is probably a database design-related question to, but here it is... Just for learning I''m trying to build a little real estate listings application. Of course there is the listings model which will store basic information like name, price, description, and all that jazz. I''m to the point where I want to figure out how to

mclapply enters into an infinite loop....
...forgetting to repaint its window or something) while doing something significant in the background. A multi-threaded linear algebra library may create a thread per CPU core in order to take your matrix products faster. Inside a process, some resources have to be shared between the threads, like the bathroom in a flat rented by multiple people together. "Holding a lock" is like taking the key to the bathroom with the intent to occupy it for a while: a completely normal action that prevents embarrassing accidents. When you fork() a process, though, it ends up creating an exact copy of the fla...

agents and music on hold with autoanswer..
My colleague left our company, then I have to manage all our phones lines and asterisk: please, apologize me because I'm 'absolute beginner' about voip/asterisk!! Well... all seems work fine; we have some queues and some agents; the "music on hold" works fine when the agent press the hold button on the phone (thomson); the agents have the 'autoanwser' flag

Queues and Agent penalty - how to go to second best agent when the first does not answer
...he very lowest penalty does not answer, instead of going with to the second best agent the queue rings the same agent over and over and over again. I've realized that it will only ring the second best agent only if the first is unavailable or paused or inuse, but what happens when he`s on a bathroom break? I`d like the queue to call them in order but not be infatuated with its favorite agent. I know I could implement a log in log off system, which I have done for other queues, but this queue needs to be kept simple with no agent intervention when they leave for a few minutes. Any ideas? Problem with Dutch PSTN-line on X100P
...the audio will start to crackle. Soon after that, this crackle turns into a continuous noise and the parties won't be able to hear eachother anymore. It also sometimes happens that the party on the TDM400P hears a very loud, short-delay echo of themselves, best described as "talking in a bathroom". It very much sounds like very bad feedback, most of the time. The system concerned is a PIII-750 with an X100P and a TDM400P. The problem occurs when a call is bridged between the X100P and a port on the TDM400P. Calls from the TDM400P to a remote IAX2- connected box seem OK. rxgain / tx...

dovecot user
Any thoughts on this: The primary use for "dovecot" user has been for login processes. But people keep misunderstanding this and try to use dovecot for accessing mails. For years I've been wondering about renaming this user to something else like dovelogin, but it never really seemed practical. So now with v2.0 there are a bunch of new processes, and for example anvil and dict are

Reloading dovecot after certificate renewal?

Five hundred years ago we knew it was a globe. Today we know it is flat and round carried through space on the back of a turtle. Don't you wonder what shape it will turn out to be tomorrow?"
