Tuomi's earlier responses).
Thanks and best wishes,

Integrated RTL8168/8111 NIC not assigned interface
I'm running 7.0-RELEASE-i386 on Jetway's NC92-N230 mainboard. The board has
one integrated RTL8168/8111 gigabit NIC as well as an expansion board with
three RTL8168/8111 NICs. Why would the three NICs work while the onboard NIC
does not?

Localhost imap server fails after upgrade from 2.2.33.2-1 to 1:2.3.2.1
Hi Aki,
(This message might not make it to the list; I have to switch back to the
other dovecot to be able to send from that address)
Oops; I did not think carefully enough about your instructions. Here is the
output from
$ dovecot -n -c /home/meuser/dotfiles/auto-stanford-dovecot.conf
# 2.3.2.1 (0719df592): /home/meuser/dotfiles/auto-stanford-dovecot.conf

Identical yum configs, different results
...epos.d]#
"yum install octave" gives the same error.
Any idea what I'm missing? I'm sure it's something stupid but I've been banging my head against the wall all evening on this...
Thanks,

Freebsd 7 STABLE 200807 amd64 - Realtek 8168 not working
I have an Asus P5Q-WS running FreeBSD 7 and the onboard Realtek NIC's

No Kernel modifications as this is a fresh install.

7.1, mpt and slow writes
Hello,
I think this needs a few more eyes:
http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-scsi/2009-January/003782.html
In short, writes are slow, likely do to the write-cache being enabled on
the controller. The sysctl used in 6.x to turn the cache off don't seem
to be in 7.x.
Thanks,
Charles

rndc: connect failed: 127.0.0.1#953: connection refused
My BIND9.6.0 on FreeBSD 6.2 works fine when I manually start with:
root@ns2# named -4 -S 1024 -c /etc/namedb/named.conf
But it won't start on boot and no error messages or log. And it won't start using rndc, it cause error message. Why does the error shows port 953 when I specified for port 53 in the config?

ext2 inode size patch - RE: PR kern/124621
A while back, I submitted a patch for PR kern/124621, which allows the
mounting of an ext2(3) filesystem created with an inode size other
than 128. The e2fsprogs' default is now 256, so file systems created
on newer Linux distributions or with the port will not be mountable.
I was hopeful this would get committed in time for 7.1-RELEASE (and
6.4-RELEASE), however the PR remains open.

graphics being rendered black
I've compiled the latest cvs wine (tried the stable version too), and some of the graphics in an application are being rendered as black boxes.
Actually, I'm not even sure that the images are being rendered at all, as there are some problems with transparency, too. On the splash/login screen this is particularly noticable, as the first render(the splash) is fine, but the next one(the

"a binary read error occurred" in read.dta
I'm trying to read in a perfectly good Stata data file created using
Stata 10 in Linux and saved in the version 8/9 format using "saveold".
R fails to read in the file:
aa<-read.dta("myfile.dta")
Error in read.dta("myfile.dta"):

If I resave the file in Stata using the "nolabels" option of saveold,
I get:
