It seems that the encoder discards a frame of input, but I haven't spent any time debugging...

FLAC codec in OS X Leopard
I upgraded to Leopard (version 10.5 of OS X) a few weeks ago. Although I was a bit disappointed, but not surprised, to see that FLAC support isn't built natively into the OS, I was very happy to notice recently that Apple ships source code for a FLAC encoder and decoder codec component in /Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/AudioCodecs/ FLAC.xcodeproj. All that is necessary to build the

flac files playable in iTunes 5.0.1 ?
Hi, Is the recent version 0.1.5 (08.05.2006) of XiphQT compatible with iTunes 5.0.1 and Mac OSX 10.4? I am trying to get flac files to play in my iTunes and hope I don't have to upgrade iTunes and get all the junk that comes with it. i already have ogg support, so this is an incremental improvement. -- Thanks, Jerry

flac files playable in iTunes 5.0.1 ?
...g00179.html That means: even if you have a FLAC decoder, which XiphQT provides, and a native FLAC file format importer, which can be found at: http://people.xiph.org/~arek/flac_import/ iTunes will still refuse to use it to play FLAC files. You can cheat and get it working at the moment, see: http://barelyfocused.net/blog/2006/10/12/native-flac-in-itunesquicktime/ but who knows how iTunes internals will change in 3-4 months from now? "Planet Xiph" feed collector website?
...anet KDE [2] is doing for example. Is there such a thing for Xiph? Is there interest in having such a thing? If so would there be a chance to cover the domain costs from past/future donations? What do you think? Would anybody but me like to see such a thing going online? Sebastian [1] http://barelyfocused.net/ [2] http://planetkde.org/
