Installation oddity on Fedora Core 5 (PR#8814)
...l to
/usr/local/R-2.3.0
This procedure worked fine on earlier versions of Fedora as well as on
debian and other distros. Wonder if this is a gcc-4.1 or GNU make issue.
Any feedback will be much appreciated.

How to fit bivaraite longitudinal mixed model ?
...tors of order 2.
Model 2
Y_ij, Y_ij2 | U_i = u_i ~ N(alpha + u_i + beta1*t_ij + U_i2*t_ij, Sigma)
U_i=(U_i1,U_i2) ~ iid N(0, Omega)
Sigma =bivariate AR structure
Here alpha and beta are vectors of order 2.
Moreover can we assume a structure for Omega.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

[LLVMdev] AESOP autoparallelizing compiler
...putes the resulting direction vectors in the function, then associates them all with loops.
At a high level, the dependence analysis consults with AliasAnalysis, and ScalarEvolution before resorting to attempting to understand the effective affine expressions and performing dependence tests (e.g., Banerjee). If it cannot rule out a dependence, then it will additionally consult with an ArrayPrivatization analysis to see if an involved memory object can be made thread private. It is probably also worth mentioning that the LMDA has been written not only to function well with IR from source code, but als...

glm.poisson.disp versus glm.nb
Dear list,
This is a question about overdispersion and the ML estimates of the
parameters returned by the glm.poisson.disp (L. Scrucca) and glm.nb
(Venables and Ripley) functions. Both appear to assume a negative binomial
distribution for the response variable.
Paul and Banerjee (1998) developed C(alpha) tests for "interaction and main
effects, in an unbalanced two-way layout of counts involving two fixed
factors, when data are Poisson distributed, and when data are extra
dispersed". In R I coded their C(alpha) test statistic (called TNBI) for
interaction for the...

supported yet. I focused on the main part - an algorithm that checks for
dependence given two instructions. It uses alias analysis info and some
techniques from the Allen & Kennedy book (ZIV test, strong SIV test,
Banerjee test, simpler form of the Delta test). Alexandre X. Duchateau
and Albert Sibelnik added the Omega test based on the Omega library.
I am going to go the Developer Policy's way and work incrementally with
your feedback. What do you think of the following work plan?

[LLVMdev] SIV tests in LoopDependence Analysis, Sanjoy's patch
Hi Sanjoy,
Here's a version of Banerjee and Wolfe's Exact SIV test:
https://sites.google.com/site/parallelizationforllvm/weak-siv-test
It assumes you've already filtered out the easy cases handled by ZIV,
strong SIV, etc.
I'm not confident about my uses of APInt. If you have any comments, I'd
love to hear them.
Thanks,...

urppTest Z-tau? Z-alpha?
...int about what might be the difference between running urppTest
with Z-alpha and Z-tau in type=c("Z-alpha", "Z-tau")?
Is this the underlying equation:
delta_y(t) = mu + tau*timetrend+(1-rho)*y(t-1) + alpha_1*delta_y(t-1) + ... +
alpha_k*delta_y(t-k) + error term ?
I looked at Banerjee et al. mentioned in the fSeries documentation, but that didn't help.
Thanks a lot,
Katrin
