save objects of own function to workspace
Dear R-helpers,
I created an own function which looks like this
s_elternmz <- function(Var="balt")
{
Dg_a<-mz[,c("asbhh","apkz",Var)]
colnames(Dg_a)[colnames(Dg_a)=="apkz"]<-"bpkzm"
colnames(Dg_a)[colnames(Dg_a)==Var]<-paste(Var,"_m",sep="")
mz_int<-merge(mz,Dg_a,by=c("asbhh","bpkzm"),all.x...

Memisc package: imported varibles from SPSS have got wrong measurement
Dear list members,
I have got another problem. I imported an SPSS file with the Memisc package
using the following commands:
mz <- spss.system.file("myspssfile.sav")
mz <- subset(mz,select=c(
bsex,balt,xurb,dtaet,kartab,bgeb,boseit,bgeblan,xnuts2,kausb,xerwstat,
asbper,asbhh,ajahr,aquartal,bstaat,xwieoft,gew1,apkz,bpkzm,bpkzv))
Afterwards I checked the measurements of the variables and they are all
right for most of them (e.g. the variable containing the sex of a person is
"nominal" a...

(1) Is this the specification I want to estimate to obtain those

variables specification.
If not, how should I specify my model? I reviewed Baltes (2007)
"Linear mixed model implementation" and learned how to detect if my
design is nested or crossed, but not how to specify my model once I
know it is crossed as in my case.
If the previous specification is correct, (2) why do I get this error message?

Need PAM to use winbind in Solaris 8?
...e that isn't really
necessary. Is anyone out there NOT using PAM, running Samba and winbind on
Solaris 8? Maybe my problems are related to my attempt to keep it simple
and not use pam.

Problems with large trusted domains?
...between 1000 and 3000 user accounts? My Samba box is a
domain member of an NT 4 domain (departmental domain) which has a two way
trust relationship with a second NT domain for the company.

Slackware
Winbind - I also think I understand this.
If there are any more pieces of related software I'm not mentioning, please

Known limitations? (IRIX + Samba 2.2.3a + Winbind)
...DOMAIN+USERNAME? (+ is my separator defined in winbind).
On the same subject, how would I define an entire NT user group or all users
of a certain domain to have Read or Read/Write access?

Winbind - Why won't you authenticate???

the Reponses are given way to quick for any real network activity to have

Please lend some advice if you have any. I can probably get sample output
