I portupgraded my working 3.0.23b PDC on FreeBSD 5.5 to 3.0.23c and found that all workstations could not login. The log file reads: get_md4pw: Workstation PC01$: no account in domain I ran pdbedit -L, and it returned nothing. I use tdbsam backend; all user accounts show up fine with 3.0.23b. Now they are missing. I deinstalled 3.0.23c and switched back to 3.0.23b. Everything is then back

I have a problem with the latest Samba (3.0.25a) running under FreeBSD (recent STABLE: FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE #41: Mon Jun 11 19:24:30 CEST 2007). Is it normal that the gencache.tdb should grow and grow “forever” and fill up with “RA/<hex>” posts? I’ve been investigating why our Samba 4.7.3 servers (happened with older version 4 servers too) would use such insane amounts of memory on our FreeBSD 11.1 servers (we see smbd processes using hundreds of megabytes of RAM and up to 5GB virtual memory).
