[LLVMdev] an OS around LLVM
You might wish to read this thread as well, for some backround on LLVM IR. http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2011-October/043719.html Summary: LLVM IR is target specific, not portable between different targets. LLVM IR is actually a Compiler IR and not a virtual machine language.

Notification when queue member's phone rings
Short question: how to get control or notification (gosub, macro, AGI) when a queue member's phone starts ringing due to an incoming call from the queue. Backround: Our phone operators serve both an asterisk call queue and a queue for web chat support. I have a gosub on the queue that calls to our app server to mark the operator unavailable for web chat as soon as they answer an incoming queue call. Similarly, when a web chat is connected, it uses AMI...

installing Rmpi
...dyn.unload(x) : dynamic/shared library '/home/apps/R-2.2.0/lib/R/library/Rmpi/libs/Rmpi.so' was not loaded Error in makeMPIcluster(spec, ...) : the `Rmpi' package is needed for MPI clusters. The Rmpi.so exists and the permissions are fine. I also did a lamboot, and its running in the backround fine as well. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: KVM incremental backup using CBT
...Above, if you have QEMU guest agent installed in your virtual machine, try --quiesce option with 'snapshot-create-as' to ensure you have a consistent disk state. Samba PDC on FreeBSD problem?
Problem: Samba running as a PDC on a FreeBSD, the clients can connect without computer accounts and browse the shares in the domain. Should the PDC allow that? As far as i have understood the PDC should refuse since the computer does not have a account in the domain regardless that the user have a user account? Can it somehow be that i have named the computers as the users, user bob with

Samba 4 technical documentation
Hi Newsgroup, I want to write a technical thesis about Samba 4 and need more detailed infos about samba's own implementations of ldap, kerberos, bind, etc. and the differences from the common implementations. Obviously I'm to stupid to find it for myself so I would be very grateful for any help, links, etc. Thanks in advance, Markus

Sync both sides with deleting from one side and creating files on both sides
...ant to ask: I have to servers connected over vpn. On both sides there is a working directory "Office" where the users are working on but deletion should only be possible on side A. The idea is, that on A and B people can work and save over their 100 Mbit Network quite fast, and in the backround the data get synchronized over the slow line. This is all working quite great, but we also want that on side A somebody deletes something, it gets deleted on side B as well. This is working perfect as well. But when side B creates something, it gets deleted on side B, instead of beeing synchrinized...

more on firmware loading need
...debian lenny standard kernel (2.6.21whatever) and it shows the card in lspci but doesn't create /proc/ide/hd* for any of the channels. I had known good hardrives plugged into the card at the time. I'm sorry that this post has moved away from only syslinux specific help but I hope this backround helps other in understanding what I hope to complete. If syslinux can load firmware that would solve most of my issues at this point. Again any ideas would be great considering the stress I've created for myself.

...from-scratch installation and setup on my own. I'm following the instructions in the ePub edition of the book "Asterisk, the Definitive Guide, Fifth Edition," published by O’Reilly Media, Inc. in 2019, for Asterisk version 16 on a fresh install of Dedbian 11.6 (Bull's Eye). Backround: In Chapter 3, "Installing Asterisk," in the section "Asterisk Packages," the book says, and I quote from the ePub: There are Asterisk packages  that can be installed using package management systems  such as  yum or  apt-get . You are encouraged to use them once you are...

online updates
Hi. I'm looking for ideas or suggestions for field updates for an embedded system running linux with syslinux as the bootloader. The requirements are to be able to upload an image online (probably a private network using sftp) while the device is running, do some error checking on the new image and then reboot the device and run the new version. I'll be running off a CF card. The image is

[LLVMdev] an OS around LLVM
Hi all, If it's not the right place to ask, please forgive me. Currently I'm working on a new operating system concept, called "Om". The first feature would be Android-like apps, coming in *.opk files that would contain all needed resources and source-code expressed in LLVM-IR assembly language. http://sett.com/openminded-os/uid/88508 How does it sound ? Problems with Planescape: Torment
...ard about sound problems from anyone else, and I've checked (almost) everywhere! Ubuntu has some problems with sound, but there are many tutorials on how to solve them, and I've followed them.Sound works well on all other apps, although If I have Ruthmbox or XMMS or whatever running in the backround, I can't hear any sound in e.g ZSNES (Meaning, in Ubuntu the sound card can't be used by more than one application). So, unless Wine tries to acsess the sound card in a *dual* way, It's not Ubuntu.*Phew*.That was long. I Thank You, Repliers.Long Live Rock 'n Roll. "Good people...

KVM incremental backup using CBT
Hi Looking in to implementing (CBT like) delta backup for KVM. The following looks promising..(last paragraph) http://wiki.qemu.org/Features/Snapshots2 * In the last para, there is a mention of copy the blocks from the disk using dirty-bitmap as reference. How to accomplish this ? block-mirror with bitmap or is there a qemu-img command ? some details would be
