new box, won''t boot domU
I just set up a new box that has been giving me trouble since I first cloned the xen repo to it. I started off with "error: can''t find a register in class ''BREG'' while reloading ''asm''" errors that I fixed by changing my gcc profile(gentoo) to nopie. That introduced me to a ''__guard'' error that I fixed by changing my gcc

Interpretation of escaped characters in \examples{}
I've noticed a curious interpretation of escaped characters in \examples{} in .Rd files. For example, if I type files <- dir(pattern="\\.txt") at the R prompt, I will get a vector containing all file names in the current directory containing the string ".txt". If I put \examples{ files <- dir(pattern="\\.txt") } in an .Rd file of a package,

Actually if you use the mysql command-line client, you would be able to paste that in with the backlashes. Make sure to put in a real value in WHERE username = '%u' <<<

Problem with Eudora
I'm trying to get Dovecot (dovecot-0.99.10-6) to work with Eudora (6.0 mac/win) and am having a real problem when I try to enable SSL, either TLS or alternate-port SSL. Although my other mail clients, mail.app, imp, etc. work just fine, either version of Eudora craps out when trying to connect via TLS or SSL -- on the mac I get the error Could not get mailbox list. 20 [CLOSED]

[lld] r271569 - Start adding tlsdesc support for aarch64.
...The obliteration of the old ELF back-end was discussed only between a few people, not on the list. The technical reasoning could have been solid for a new back-end, but not for destroying fresh code. The removal was weeks after Adhemerval had LLD bootstrapping Clang on AArch64 upstream. There were backlashes to that decision, as well as other decisions in this list, and many people have already demonstrated discontent with how LLD patches and decisions are handled. During EuroLLVM's LLD presentation, a lot of people asked technical questions about the implementation of wanted features like library...

[LLVMdev] Clang can't be built out of tree on windows
.... Basically ClangDriverOptions and ClangCC1AsOptions will fail saying: 'C:\llvm-build\bin\\llvm-tblgen.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command This is correct, because the actual path to tblgen has Debug in it (bin\Debug\llvm-tblgen), it should go right between those two backlashes (bin\\). Only these two project call llvm-tblgen, other clang project seem to be using clang-tblgen which works fine. I've added some tracing to llvm/cmake/modules/tablegen.cmake where tablegen CMake macro is defined but haven't had much success in figuring out where the wrong path is comin...

does SSH.COM really in fact approve of the generic meaning of "SSH"?
I hate to open up a discussion that may already be closed (I haven't really followed the trademark dispute other than via the postings to NewsForge, and in particular the one on March 7), and I can't find on www.openssh.com an obviously more appropriate address to send this thought to, so.... [fdo] [PROPOSAL] Expiring accounts
(sent to freedesktop@ and sitewranglers@, please keep the discussion on freedesktop@) Hi all, currently we have a bit more than 700 user accounts on freedesktop.org. I suspect some of those are no longer active, but we currently have no way of detecting this. Some other large projects like Debian and Fedora try to detect activity through SSH logins, mailing list activity, etc. Ubuntu requires
