Problem about samba3 on freebsd, with smbldap-tools
...because it cannot determine whether the computer named "DOMAIN" is
joined to a domain
I have also tried to do same setup with Debian/Linux with the same
settings in samba/openldap but it did not have this problem.
BTW seems HPUX with the CIFS also get this problem:

Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello
We are facing a problem in samba server running in hpux11.11. version of samba is
version: 2.2.8a based HP CIFS Server A.01.10.
we are not able to connect more than 18 users concurrently. when we map drive for 19th user it gives me a error "network connection not found" ,after killing one user it starts mapping.
Is there any user restriction or need for kernel parameter change.

Samba and MC/Service Guard
Samba friends,
I work in Wal-Mart's IT department, specifically with Unix Servers of
various flavors, but HP-UX is predominant in our Home Office environment.
I recently built an two node HA cluster on HP 11.11 boxes. I want to be
able to have Samba use the virtual name of my cluster. Currently Samba is
configured to use the hardcoded box name, however if the box happens to go
down, we

CIFS/ACLs
Hi,
I am using CIFS 2.01.01 on HPUX11V2. CIFS is running in ADS
security-mode. Winbind is used to map the userers from the W2K3-Domain
(german) to an tdb-file. The user mapping works fine, but I have
problems with the ACLS: setting the ACLS to a file or folder from
windows leads in "access denied". I'm the owner of the object and have
full access. The really crazy thing is,

Problems with samba under HPUX
Hi,
we have installed the newest release of samba from HP for HPUX.
It's based on samba 2.2.3a (B8725-1.0.8 HP number)
We used the same config file and started the samba stuff and
run into the following problems.
1) The machine was only reachable under one netbios alias.
2) Only some pc could connect (~15 out of 150), but those could
also only see the toplevel of a share
3) The following error...

SAMBA Server and Domain Mismatch Problem
Hello!
We are running SAMBA 2.2.8a from HP (CIFS) on a HP-UX (11i)
server. It is running great and all that. The only issue is that the
users would like to be able to share there shares to other users that
they specify through the Windows clients. The problem is that when they
look at properties they see the hostname\username under the Group or
user name - which is themselves. When

samba & ACL questions
Greetings,
I seem to have Samba+AD+ACL's working on a RH ES4 server; however, I'm
looking for clarification in regard to how the ACL's differ between
windows and samba... or if they differ?
With windows ACL's, I can give out user permission traverse directory,
but not read its contents. Then I can give said user more permission to
a sub folders contents. Meaning: I

Samba stops working on HP-UX 11
I've had a consistent problem with Samba from 2.2.1 onwards, maybe even
before then, I'm not sure when it started.
Anyway, Samba will randomly stop responding to any requests, although
it usually occurs after transfering large amounts of data (1 GB+). To
get around the problem, I've been restarting samba every night, but we
still have the problem occasionally.
smbclient shows:
