Has anyone created a UAT environment to go with test, development and production?
Has anyone tried to add another environment.
When developing I develop locally, deploy to a UAT environment for
checking that my stuff fits into the organisations infrastucture and
user testing and then deploy to production.
test and production are fine. The main problem is that development (I
currently hack the the database.yml and drop the test branch to loose
some local development mocks

Proxy ARP and RH 7.2
I have tried unsuccessfully to run both Shorewall 1.2.x, 1.3.x with
Proxy ARP on a Red Hat 7.2 machine.
The machine was configured as the external firewall as per the ''belt and
suspenders'' layout given at http://www.skippy.net/linux/firewall/
The firewall appeared to function correctly in all functions except
proxy ARP, however I must say I did not test exhaustively.

running ruby script/plugin install ... from behind a firewall
I''m probably missing something obvious but...
gems has the -p for proxies. Is there some equivalent for ruby
script/install or is there a way of running this that doesn''t need it?

Trouble with excel download under https
Part of my application exports data as an excel spreadsheet. I used the
example on the wiki and everything works fine... under HTTP.
I also have a requirement that I run the site under HTTPS which works
fine until I try to export the data as xls. when I get "Cpould not open
''https://..../excel_export''
Does anyone have any pointers? Its driving me up the wall.
