"sleeping without queue" ?
Hello!
My attempt to build openoffice.org-3 seems to be hanging. Pressing
Ctrl-T produces:
load: 0.11 cmd: tcsh 79759 [sleeping without queue] 0.00u 0.00s 0% 0k
(tcsh is used by OOo's build-script). What is this "sleeping without
queue" state, and why is process in it for so long?
This is an 4-CPU amd64 system with 4Gb of RAM. Only 16% of the swap is

Managing about 30 users?
I have about 30 dev. and operation users on my machines, is there a
recipe anywhere for doing this? The best practices doc on the wiki is
incomplete and confusing.
Also, any workaround for the ssh_authorized_key bug in 24.8? All I
really want to do is create users, home directories and put ssh keys
in them, but it tries to add the keys first, so it doesn''t work.

forms that mix new and old records
...#39; nice
form helpers, especially the params hash that it generates for the
records when the form is submitted. So - I am creating ''dummy'' records
with fake ids to represent the new records that don''t really exist in
the database.
I''m getting wrapped around the axle when I try and submit the form. I
need to identify the pre-existing records and just save them back to
the database with any modified data. For the new records, I need to
create them fresh and then save them to the database.
I''ve been trying all sorts of clever tricks to identify the new...

Possibly memory leak & DoS
...the problem exists:
For each connection _without_ a source (a 404 error), about 100 bytes are
leaked. It's easy to test:
for i in `seq 10000 `; do echo -n -e $i'\r'; \
wget -q http://HOST:8000/any_uri -O /dev/null; done; echo
After running it, you'll probably see (with "ps axl") that the program
consumes about 1 MB more. The results are repeatable, just run it again.
Please, check if you have the same problem, I don't trust glibc2.3 very
much. But _____if_____ it's a bug, then it is a honeypot for script
kiddies.

FIX: pscales=list(...) and splom
...tend.limits(range(as.numeric(z[, i]),
na.rm = TRUE))
if (is.list(pscales)) {
lim[[i]] <- extend.limits(range(pscales[[i]]$at))
}
}
}
--snappi--
* The labels are still not as expected.
To fix these, occurences of "as.character(axls ..." have to be replaced by
"labels ..."
(see enclosed diff).
Now a call like the following works and displays
the correct ranges and labels:
--snippa--
# Let axes start by 0 and use other decimal separator
pscal <- list(1:4)
pscal[[1]] <- list(at=seq(0,10,2), lab=paste(seq(...

RSpec stories introduction
I have played a bit with RSpec specs and now want to check out stories. I
note that there is no generator for rspec stories pre se (unless I managed
to miss all references to one ) and that the only directory relating to
stories added by installing rspec is ./stories itself.
The documentation at rspec.info seems to presume a great deal of prior
knowledge. What I am looking for is a guided tour

Filesystem problem
Hi. I have been experencing some filesystem problems
for the last month or so. I was running 4.8-STABLE and
updated to 5.1-RELEASE-p2. While I was running 4.8
and I tried to run a command that required hard disk
activity, the process would 'hang' and I would no
longer be able to ssh or telnet in. I would get stuck
after typing in my login.
Running 5.1 is a different story. I did a low

Want to have some users with Maildir, some with mbox
Want to have some users with Maildir, some with mbox, as I migrate from
mbox format to maildir over the space of a month. After everyone is
converted to maildir, I'll change the mail_location in dovecot.conf.
During the interim, can I use the Custom mailbox location script (at the
bottom of the Mail Location DC Wiki page)?
