Samba 4.7 package-aware print driver
Hi ! I have seen on Wiki that samba 4.7 print server is package-aware: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Automatic_Printer_Driver_Downloads_for_Windows_Clients To use package-aware drivers: - Run Samba 4.7 and later - Enable the spoolssd service Also in https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Samba_as_a_Print_Server Support package-aware Windows drivers. I upgraded my

about RGui HighDPI awareness on windows
Dear all: Now RGui on windows no HighDPI awareness.try add HighDPI awareness to RGui in last two days. I write an initial POC(just for verify and only SystemDPI awareness partial implemented) , try to mod graphapp used in R to implemented DPI scaling. it seems works on my laptop , but need further test. So I post the patch https://github.com/armgong/misc-r-patch/blob/main/dpi-c-code.diff

[GSoC] Improve parallelism-aware analyses and optimizations
Hello, My name is Nader Al Awar, and I am a master's student at UT Austin. I’m interested in working on the "Improve parallelism-aware analyses and optimizations" project as part of GSoC. I looked at the relevant talks papers and I believe that I would be a good fit. Most of my background is in software engineering and testing, but recently my research has focused on applying HPC

Detab should be multi-byte aware?
A user has table-formatted data which contains accents and finds it problematic that his tables misalign after going through Markdown. This is because he made them align using tab characters and Markdown will convert these to spaces even in pre-formatted text and Markdown is not multi-byte aware. This raises two questions: 1. Should Markdown convert tabs to spaces in pre-formated text?

OT: SIP aware firewalls?
Hi All, Until now I've only used IAX2 to connect to ITSPs. I've been toying with a SIP connection to Gizmo Project, but not yet successfully. It brings to mind a question. At what point does it make sense to consider a SIP-aware firewall such as those from Ingate? I'd hate to move away from my m0n0wall, which is open source, easy to manage and has served me brilliantly for two

[LLVMdev] MC-aware Asm Printers
I'm in the process of evaluating whether to make the PTX assembly printer MC-aware. It appears that most other back-ends have made the switch, but I want to evaluate if it makes sense for the PTX back-end. First, PTX is a text-only format; there are no instruction encodings or object files. Second, the PTX back-end will never tie into the JIT compiler. After experimenting with the

[LLVMdev] Power/Energy Awareness in LLVM
Thank you for the link! It is not clear though what -Oe actually implements. Does it simply optimize for speed as suggested by Chris or it does other things? Generally speaking, speed correlates well with low energy, because completing the task in fewer cycles means consuming less energy unless the speed optimization causes the energy per cycle to be significantly higher. In theory, some compiler

ACL support?
Is it still true that in order for a Linux hosted Samba server to have NT ACL support, the Linux box must have an ACL aware file system such as XFS or Andreas Gruenbacher's kernel patch ("POSIX ACL")? I read this in chapter 4 of "Teach Yourself Samba in 24 Hours". In the time since that book was written, has an easier method been developed, or has a

Is CIFS HA Aware ?
Good Day, We use a lot of DFS Shares (Windows) across our Linux Servers. The DFS Shares are setup in a Cluster. Over the weekend we did a DR excercise which included shutting down one of the Servers that hosted the DFS Shares. What we found is that any Linux Server that had associated itself with the DFS Server that was shutdown did not try and connect to the remaining Server that was up. Is

Dependency-aware scripting tools for R
There are numerous tools like scons, make, ruffus, ant, rake, etc. that can be used to build complex pipelines based on task dependencies. These tools are written in a variety of languages, but I have not seen such a thing for R. Is anyone aware of a package available? The goal is to be able to develop robust bioinformatic pipelines driven by scripts written in R. Thanks, Sean

new-kernel-pkg needs to be made Xen-aware
I ran "yum update" the other day on my dom0 and let it pull a new kernel. The RPM install scriptlet runs /sbin/new-kernel-pkg (part of the grubby package) to update grub.conf. It writes a new record to boot the Linux kernel instead of Xen. It would be nice if it noticed that it was running inside Xen and wrote a suitable record for that.
