Mouse Problems
..., I hope that you are well. I have installed CentOS 4.1 and I have an MS mouse. The mouse pointer can be moved around BUT I cannot click on anything menus and such, even during the install the mouse isn't operational for clickage. Any thoughts. Any help would be most welcome. I am using an Avocent SwitchView MP, but its made no difference in installing Core 3 or any other OS. Cheers, Aly. -- Aly S.P Dharshi aly.dharshi at telus.net "A good speech is like a good dress that's short enough to be interesting and long enough to cover the subject"

Slow zfs import solved (beware iDRAC/ILO)
...the import command that takes forever. After poking around with truss zpool import, I discovered that there were some devices that were taking forever to check/enumerate and that they didn''t correspond to any devices I recognized. Finally I tweaked to the following: from cfgadm -lv Mfg: Avocent Product: USB Composite Device-0 NConfigs: 1 Config: 0 <no cfg str descr> Which is the supplier of the DELL components for the iDRAC management tools. It turns out that the Virtual Media options were set to "Attach" in the BIOS so on a zpool import it was trying to read from...

[OT] CAT5 IP-capable rackmount KVM units?
Rather off-topic, but I'm looking for IP-based KVMs (~16 ports) that can handle both PS/2 and USB hookups on the server side. All of the answers over at Slashdot are a few years out of date and it looks like prices on KVM head units have dropped a bit over the years. Some of the older units only worked with Windows, Internet Explorer and ActiveX. Others like the ATEN KH1516i supposedly

Affordable KVM over IP switch
Hello, Are there any KVM over IP switches that are not thousands of dollars? Ideally a 3-4 port switch for a few hundred seems reasonable to me. Mike -- Michael B Allen Java Active Directory Integration http://www.ioplex.com/

Hypervisor hangs on startup
Hi! We have a problem that the dom0 very often does not boot and hangs in the hypervisor - see screenshot. The last message is: (XEN) Dom0 has maximum 16 VCPUs (afterwards xen should overwrite the memory) We are using the xen kernel from kernel.org git. Kernel is 2.6.32.24-xen with Xen 4.0.1 Hardware is HP DL380. Is this a known problem? Any hints what could be the problem and how we can

Strange reboot since 9.1
Hello, Since FreeBSD 9.1 I have strange problems with the distribution. Some servers are rebooting without any kernel panic, instanly. First i thought it's a problem with my KVM system, but one of my FreeBSD under a Dell R210 have the same problem. The servers concerned are now: - Monitoring server - LDAP test server - Some other servers, randomly (not in production). First i thought it's
