autoscaling plot font size in Sweave output possible?
Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to have fonts in plots to be autoscaled to the same font size used by LaTeX in a surrounding Sweave document. Here's a short example in which the fonts of the first plot are barely readable: --8<------------------------schnipp------------------------->8--- \documentclass{article} \usepackage{graphicx} \newcommand{\mytext}{So...

how to make lines() meet axis in autoscaled coordinate system?
Hello, I have an auto-scaled coordinate system and would like to add some clarifying lines to the graph - which ares supposed to meet the axis. >lines(c(0,time1,time1), c(1,1,0),lty=3) does what I want, BUT the second leg does not touch the x-axis since the auto-scaling of the y-axis does not start at'0' but slightly negative. I could now adjust the line length by 'trial and

ISO Eric Kort (rtiff)
...50 error. Does anyone know how to reach him, or whether he's actively maintaining rtiff? If anyone's interested, my primary desire is for rtiff (or other tool) to provide me with the raw range of pixel values in a tiff file. rtiff dumps straight into a pixmap object, so the data are autoscaled into [0,1] . thanks Carl

Glusterfs 2.0 hangs on high load
Hello! After upgrade to version 2.0, now using 2.0.1, I'm experiencing problems with glusterfs stability. I'm running 2 node setup with cliet side afr, and glusterfsd also is running on same servers. Time to time glusterfs just hangs, i can reproduce this running iozone benchmarking tool. I'm using patched Fuse, but same result is with unpatched.

[ANNOUNCE] xf86-input-synaptics 1.0.0
Finally, we decided to go for a 1.0 release since 0.99.3 has been slumbering for too long. Notable improvements since the 0.15.2 release: - Improved device autoscaling. The device now reads the kernel's event interface and adjusts most parameters based on the information received. This gives a unified feel to all touchpads without the need for configuration. Of course, this

R-beta: adjusting y-axis scale with multiple lines in plot
Hello -- I am plotting multiple densities in a single plot. If the max of a new density (added with 'lines()') is sufficiently larger than that of the one first plotted (using 'plot()'), the new density is cut or trucated off of the figure. Is there a simple way of adjusting the yscale after all lines have been added? Or is the procedure to be used to first estimate all

Has anyone written an ENC script that uses EC2 tags for classification purposes?
I''m thinking it should be fairly simple to have a puppetmaster call out to an ENC script that queries the EC2 API to get tags for classification purposes, and would be surprised if someone hasn''t already written an ENC script to do this. I''m thinking this will help let nodes in autoscaling groups get classified, however that does still leave the issue of certs. Thanks,

Glusterfs-2 locks/hangs on EC2/vtun setup
Hi all, I'm trying to get a glusterfs cluster working inside Amazon's EC2. I'm using the official ubuntu 8.10 images. I've compiled glusterfs-2, but I'm using the in-kernel fuse module as the instances run 2.6.27-3, and the fuse module from glusterfs won't compile against something that recent. For my test setup I'm trying to get AFR working over two servers, with

Baring that my wife doesn''t give birth by then (which would prevent me from making it) how does this sound to everyone else? Brian G., Can you rally up the troops and also invite people from other groups? Also let''s have some specific topics to discuss.

trouble with plotrix package
Hello list, I wrote a simple program to plot data on polar axes, taking advantage of the plotrix package and its function radial.plot. The basic plot works fine, but I am having difficulties with the formatting. There are three problems, but I thought I would attack them one at a time. Here is the first: If my data set contains values with all vector lengths between 0 and 100 (and various

How to use the function "plot" as Matlab?
Hello, How to use the function plot to produce graphs as Matlab? example in Matlab: a = [1,2,5,3,6,8,1,7]; b = [1,7,2,9,2,3,4,5]; plot(a,'b') hold plot(b,'r') How to make the same in R-package ? I am trying something thus: a <- c(1,2,5,3,6,8,1,7) c(1,7,2,9,2,3,4,5) -> b a;b plot(a,t="l",col="blue") plot(b,t="l",col="red")
