WIN98:No Logon (fix)
Here (thanks to "MSgt Donovan Chin" <chind@ogn.af.mil>) is what you have to do
to get the dialog box back:
Start RegEdit
Double click on the following in order:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Network
Real Mode Net
Over on the right hand side, you will see one line with AutoLogon
Click once on AutoLogon and press the Delete key.
NOTE: the only line

Remote win98 refusing to connect to samba server
The problem: attempting to connect to a samba network drive from a
Windows 98 machine gives me the error message: "Not logged on".
Background:
We have been running samba to serve a number of w95 clients for a couple
of years. Some of the clients are remote and we don't bother with running
nmbd(8), so all clients have LMHOSTS files.
The problem is related to a new W98 machine

Popup messages on login
I have a samba server running in a workgroup. It is not usesd to
facilitate domain logons. When someone logs on, I'd like for a popup
message to come up. How would I do this (they are Win2K clients).

Samba and XP - Updated Registry - Still no go
One user on our church network is using XP Home Edition. I updated the
registry as I have seen posted on various sites.
He is still not able to connect. I have the feeling it is because he has
joined a "workgroup" and not a "domain". I am able to change the workgroup
name but I can't seem to figure out how to join a domain instead.
Is there a restriction that the
