Circumvention of authentication when using fallback mounts
Using latest icecast, let's assume the following hosting scenario. We have 2 mountpoints which are configured with authentication callbacks: /mount1 /mount2 Both mountpoints have configured the same fallback stream, mounted at '/fallback'. Both have fallback-override enabled, so they both can move listeners back from the fallback when they come online. Suppose that both mounts are

dovecot + pam + krb5 + nsswitch
hi, anyone of you pls guide me what entries to put in nsswitch.conf for pam to work with krberse, i'm trying to authenticate users from AD, I thinks (my findings) pam.d/dovecot looks into /etc/nsswitch.conf for which passwd databases to use while authenticating a users. my krb setup is working fine I tested with "kinit username" and it authenticat to AD server. Connect attempt rejected error message
...eading through the check_access() in chan_iax2.c to determine the access rejection cause, but (after reading the code) I realized quickly that I'd have to put Asterisk in debug mode to figure it out. I did notice that the other clients that were able to connect and send dial commands after authenticatation which are using port 4569 (after the IP). My brother's computer authenticates using port 64015 (or some high port) after the IP. I don't know if this is related, but it seems odd to me that if you can authenticate in to receive calls, then you should also be able to place them. Is t...

AGI for authenticating calls with DTMF
HI, I am trying to write an AGI that will authenticate users befoer the call is allowed to proceed. Befor you ask, i have tried using the authenticate() function but it does not work for me as this function messes up call accounting (authenticat() awayas awnseres the channel, thus causes CDR to bill for 'ring' time). the AGI will (1) playback a voice prompt over an unawnsered channel (2)

astGUIclient installation problem
Hello, This issue was just handled Monday on the astguiclient-users list: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=7448401&forum_id=4358 6 You just need to use OLD_PASSWORD in the SET PASSWORD for your mysql server to get the auth method for that account back to the pre 4.1.12 version default method of login authentication. Also, consider joining the astguiclient-users list, a

WinXP slow share access
My WinXP clients are able to map a network drive on my samba server. However, it takes 30 seconds to do so, and accessing the contents of the shared drive is also quite slow. Linux (smbclient) and Windows 2000 clients are able to map the share instantly, and access files without delay. I am using Linux 2.4.5, with samba 2.2.3a compiled from source on the server. The delay is consistent at 30

Trusted Domain's users not authenticating properly.

All users within the Samba server's domain authenticat successfully via AD and can access Samba shares on this server fine. When running the wbinfo -t command it is successful. The wbinfo -m command lists 14 trusted domains and

Group policy for Win2K/XP
Has anyone looked in to domain policy for Win2K/XP machines from a SAMBA controlled domain? I have played around with these policies from within a Win2K AD-domain, and wondered if I can carry my policies over to a SAMBA domain. Any info, or reference to relevent documentation is appreciated. This mail has passed through an insecure network. All enquires should be directed to the message

Auth errors with winbind on member server with Native AD
So many people have posted this problem! The steps to debug need to be in a FAQ. The short question is: Can there be a disconnect between the short and long REALM names, leading to winbind-to-AD authentication errors? and How do I fix it? I can access windows shares or join a AD Domain with: mount -t smbfs -o username=johns, workgroup=ms //library/Source_Safe tmp/ --or-- net ads

[squid-users] debian Jessie squid with auth (kerberos/ntlm/basic) ERROR type NTLM type 3
Hai Amos, Thank you for your very clear responce.. few small questions.. Is there a way to setup the proxy for the following. 1) use negotiate kerberos for auth, ( which is working already for all domain joined machines ) 2) use a fall back that works, for now basic ldap works for non windows machines, and domain joined machines. 3) use any other fallback way for authentication users on windows
