The file is not VBR, it is 24kbs 16kHz, mono mp3 file. It may be available
at http://streams.audioserver.nl:8080/recordings/testpreek.mp3
Ok, I've found part of the problem. I'm using the THOMSON mp3PRO Decoder
v1.2 plugin on Winamp 5.05. It appears that this plug-in doesn't support
stream seeking. After disabling the mp3PRO plugin, it worked like a charm in
Winamp 5.05 (now using the N...

FW: Multi-Level Fallbacks
Hi,
I have used the SVN icecast-2.1-trunk version in my production system at
http://audioserver.nl for 2 months now without problems. The fallbacks work
fine as long as you make sure that the format (sampling frequency and
bitrate) of the mount and it's fallback match.
I have also patched the icecast-2.1-trunk version (patch not published yet,
needs work to extract) to enable fallback...

range support / stream seeking not supported by Winamp 5 and WMP 10?
Hi,

Range support / stream seeking seems to work with RealPlayer v10, but not
with Winamp 5 or Windows Media Player 10.
Does anyone else have this experience? Is there a way to make it

Tip: using icecast in chroot mode may break timestamp in access.log
...e.
If you use a different timezone settings (generated using tzselect for example). You may need to copy the appropriate files from /usr/share/zoneinfo to your chroot basedir.
Just thought I'd share this with you folk, since it took me about an hour to figure it out.
Cheers,

SOURCE access logging in 2.1-trunk breaks webalizer (streaming version)
...hy one would do this, since the source data is
not sent but received, but I still think it would be better to log the
amount of source data transferred in the access.log. You could rename the
sent_bytes field in connection.h to transferred_bytes.

Better way of streaming radio than "musiconhold" for Asterisk 17.4 ?
Thanks Dan - might have to scratch my head over that one for a while!
The phrase "you make your own RTP server" has made me all twitchy ;)
