Having trouble listening to station with Audiorealm player.
Hi, I am having trouble listening to my live broadcasts using the audiorealm player. I am using SAM4 and MySQL with Icecast2. My operating system is Windows XP Home edition. The track info and history all show up fine, but the sound is still missing. I have been trying to get this to work for over a week now with no success. If there's anything else I need to tell you,...

Hi Jack, Ross & all... We have been working with V-Trails in refining their solution for Mp3 streaming and will be bearing the fruits of this labor starting this weekend publicly with 5 different "Audiorealm Network" stations for first initial public testing - after final testing we look to release this solution NETWORK wide - making the Audiorealm.com Network effectively the first Network 100% peer Multicast enabled. We successfully tested and refined their solution to work with our current WMA...

Getting Listed
Yeah, I got one. How about a universal listing service that has one type of listing setup, and all servers conform to that?? (ie screw yp.shoutcast.com) I am completely open to working with anyone who would like to pursue such a project, and if it is possible I will even personally put money into it. Getting Listed
Just As Icecast .yp is/was open so is Audiorealm .yp listing for anyone to use. We'd love to blend all Icecast and audiorealm server listings and we are totally open to work with anyone on this to make a more open blended directory.. Thanks Kelly! Streaming
This may be interesting to some. I recently discovered AllCast.com which has developed a p2p streaming solution. Unfortunately they decided to use WMA due to it's video capability but hopefully they could be presuaded to switch to Vorbis later when Tarkin is available. For audio though, it appears a good way to reduce bandwidth requirements at the broadcasting end and potentially

In need of a Streaming solution
Hello My company is looking for a mp3 streaming solution for a client. We will have an online catalog of music for people to listen to. Our client only wants the user to be able to listen to the music and not download it. Is this possible using icecast? Does icecast support requests? If icecast is not the solution I need, can someone point me into the right direction for mp3 streaming

...with permissions and or produce all your own content. There is in fact however is a huge hole left and something that is being debated a little bit but sadly not acted upon, is that there is no license deal currently set for Small Hobbyist or Medium commercial broadcasters such as Live365 or even AudioRealm - and sadly again no one seems to be in a hurry or getting too excited about aggregating and or banding together to at least attempt negotiating a deal before it becomes too late - A few companies I know including our own have attempted it singularly but as a united group there seems to be a void...

More questions!
Hey thanks for your help guys. I got everything working. I've got a few other questions though. I want to have a dj/station type script or program to cycle through mp3's and play a call sign mp3 every certain # of songs. Whats the best program to do this? There's a few i've seen on freshmeat.net but i'm unsure of which to use. Also, I want to do a live broadcast once a week.

Oh, I almost forgot... If you're going under compulsory licensing: 1) Listener requests cannot be honored, otherwise you will end up labeled an "interactive service" along with Audiogalaxy Rhapsody & the like. Which means more & more expensive royalties. 2) You cannot play more than 3 songs of the same album in any 3 hour period (no more than 2 in a row). Nor can you

Hello Ian, I am new to the list and am just now experimenting with icecast, but I use SAM for my broadcast, it allows a very good script style languge that can insert station ID ads etc based on time or number of songs played etc. It is available from www.audiorealm.com It does work with icecast at least in my prelimnary tests.
