Ssoundblaster audigy and alsamixer
I have an interesting problem. I have no sound through the sound card, but I can use the onboard sound ok. The reason I have no sound is that the slider for "audigy analog/digital output jack" is missing in the gnome mixer. The label is there, and a mute box are there, but no sliders. When I bring up alsa mixer in the console, there is a box for a slider, but no slider. According to soundcard detection, the module "snd-emu10k1" is install...

Wine 1.1.7: Sound regression?
...bout that, therefore I am wondering if this is a regression coming into wine 1.1.7, an issue with the new ALSA driver contained in Intrepid Ibex, or if I have to change something in my configuration files. My system config is Intrepid Ibex / Wine 1.1.7 Q6600 + 4gb ram Nvidia 8800GT Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Should you need any other info, please ask. Thanks!

darkice slow stream
Hi, I am trying to set up a stream from my computer. I have set up Icecast, and it seems to be working. My OS is Redhat Enterprise Linux 3 and my soundcard is a SB Audigy SE working with Alsa. I have set up darkice as source client, and it seems to be working I get a really slow input stream from darkice. I think the stream must have double speed for a correct playback. This is the current section of my darkice.cfg Code: [general] duration = 0 bufferSecs...

clusterMI: Cluster Analysis with Missing Values by Multiple Imputation
Dear all, I am pleased to announce the release of a new package named 'clusterMI' on CRAN. clusterMI allows clustering of incomplete observations by addressing missing values using multiple imputation. For achieving this goal, the methodology consists in three steps: 1. missing data imputation using tailored imputation models: four multiple imputation methods are proposed, two are

USB Headset - No Master Control
Hi guys, I have an onboard Audigy2 ZS that is connected to a set of speakers. I use this generally to listen to music/movies etc. I also have a generic USB Headset that I use, generally for skype/teamspeak. CENTOS 4.2 crashes when ipod plugged in
A friend sent me an ipod to office to transfer music to it. It had a firewire cable and I have an Audigy soundcard with a firewire port. But when I connected the ipod to the firewire port, I got a lot of weird numbers and interrupt errors and the system crashed badly. Is there some problem with firewire support in the kernel? -- Roger D. Vargas http://dsgp.blogspot.com | Linux, programaci?n, jueg...

Windows MSI file installation
After a recent reload with Kubuntu Hardy 8.04, my son and I are having some success with wine and M$ games/programs, mostly by bloodymindedness and the occasional foulup - losing sound intermittently was unexpected, although this may be due to the presence of an Audigy sound card, which despite being recognised and configured, nevertheless is not currently providing sound output - the main board is. However, one of the utilities he wants is Tortoise SVN, a version control facility which provides access to some patches. It only comes as an ".msi" file, a...

Wine only sees OSS, not ALSA
I have two machines, both of which run Debian squeeze and on which I compiled Wine 1.2.3. On the older installation of Debian, which uses an Audigy 2 card, when I do $ winecfg, Audio tab, the OSS, ALSA, NAS and EsoundD drivers are seen, with the ALSA driver automatically checked. The sound test works. On the new installation of Deban, with an Audigy 1 card $ winefcg only shows OSS, and so naturally the test fails, although the sound system...

Downsampling
...ch had some synchronization problems (now solved, more or less), but I have also discovered a much better solution using ASIO 2.0, which enables me to sample multiple sources on the same soundcard. Unfortunately, ASIO is limited to the internal sampling frequency of the sound card, which for my Audigy 2 is 48 khz, and only delivers stereo. As I understand it, just picking every 3rd sample and averaging left and right will introduce aliasing, so I added a FIR-filter to remove all components above 7.5 khz before downsampling. While I can't say I really notice any difference in audible audi...
