Finding out about objects and classes
When R help simply states something like:
Value:
An object of class '"loess"'.
How do I find out more about that class? Shouldn't there be a link in
the help file or something?

help improving relevance of snippets displayed by Omega
Whoops, forgot to say, as Olly said, much of that could probably now be
simplified with Xapian's snippet() function, which I can only assume did
not exist back when all this was written! :)

help improving relevance of snippets displayed by Omega
Olly,
Thanks again very much for helping me improve my understanding of Xapian
and Omega. Thanks especially for pointing out that my idea of trying to
generate a snippet from stemmed text lacking capitalization and punctuation
would probably not produce a user-friendly result.
But I'm still doubtful that expanding the sample size could be the right
way to obtain excerpts from the document

xapian-check sorted order error
...ing xapian-check with the F option to "attempt to fix a broken
database" doesn't seem to have any effect - the position table still
reports the same error both during the run with F enabled and on
subsequent runs.
Is this something we need to worry about? Can it be resolved? Thanks.

Grant access for Unix-User _and_ virtual Users
Hi group,
I have installed a postfix as an MTA and configured two "main" domains
as well as two virtual mailbox domains. Normal unix users have their
maildir in their homes (/home/%u) and the virtual mailboxes are located
in /var/mail/vhosts. It works well, I only have a problem configuring
dovecot.
I wondered if it's possible to configure it in a way that both, unix
users and

It's also set by default to collapse per debate, but turning that off

Any ideas?

[OT] CAT5 IP-capable rackmount KVM units?
Rather off-topic, but I'm looking for IP-based KVMs (~16 ports) that can
handle both PS/2 and USB hookups on the server side. All of the answers
over at Slashdot are a few years out of date and it looks like prices on
KVM head units have dropped a bit over the years.
Some of the older units only worked with Windows, Internet Explorer and
ActiveX. Others like the ATEN KH1516i supposedly

(no subject)
You're kinda confusing things there. A single physical network could
span multiple IP networks, and a single IP network doesn't have to be
restricted to one physical network.
Do you mean that you want to use a single server to serve to two
separate workgroups both of which are using the same physical hardware
and IP network? If so, then I don't believe so, but I could be wrong.

This is true with default configuration, but you can configure Auto Tie
Breaker (ATB) as you can see with "man votequorum", or an example web page
here:

I just tested and verified it on my virtual 4-nodes based on CentOS 7.4,
where I have:
- modified corosync.conf on all nodes
- pcs cluster stop --all

Proper noun stemming
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone had a solution for the following problem.
I user QueryParser to stem my documents before adding them to a
database. During the stemming process I would like to find a way of
keeping proper nouns that span two or more words together as a phrase.
For example "New York" or "Gordon Brown" or "Prime Minister" get spilt
up. I see
