Crazy "interrupt storm detected" on atapic0
...of web traffic per month for the main site and then some 40 domains with mail and small web pages. (hence - it's NOT that busy yet) I started with 7.1-RELEASE-pX since I didn't have problems straight off - but it didn't last long. After a few days of running, the interrupt storm on atapci0 starts to show. It slowly builds up and continues. When it reaches 150-200k/sec. I reboot just to be on the safe side. I have also upgraded to 7.1-STABLE to get all the ATA driver changes S.O.S. have been including. Still no visible change. To give you an impression of its impact, I will let th...

Problems booting into ZFS on recent stable/9

unexpected softupdate inconsistency
Hi there, System is FreeBSD 4.9 Stable Had a problem during a portupgrade that when portupgrade did some cleaning a directory could not be deleted because it were not empty. However, it was empty. rm -rf didn't help either. Because I didn't know what to do I decided to boot. At system startup fsck was started which produced the message: unexpected softupdate inconsistency and also that

Frequent reboots...
Hello, I am having a problem with a new server running FreeBSD 4.9-PRERELEASE. Once every two days or so, it reboots itself.. there is no exact time of the day it reboots.. It rebooted itself at 4:25 PM EDT on 9/25, and 3:05 AM EDT on 9/29 (today). I thought it's the bad memory or some sort, so I've been running memtest today and memtest reports no sign of trouble with the memory...

4.9-20030914-PRERELEASE hangs during boot
I just noticed the 4.9-20030914-PRERELEASE and made a set of installation boot floppies from it to see which of the devices in my new PC the PRERELEASE would support. It wedged hard during the boot autoconfiguration monologue, just after typing these lines on the console: atapci0: <Intel ICH5 ATA100 controller> port 0xf000-0xf00f,0-0x3,0-0x7,0-0x3,0-0x7 irq 0 at device 31.1 on pci0 ata0: at 0x1f0 irq 14 on atapci0 ata1: at 0x170 irq 15 on atapci0 atapci1: <Generic PCI ATA controller> port 0xd000-0xd00f,0xcc00-0xcc03,0xc800-0xc807,0xc400-0xc403,0xc000-0xc007 irq...

[FreeBSD] Fix for ServerWorks HT1000 in upcoming 7.1?
Hi, I have a server (Dell PowerEdge SC1435, ServerWorks HT1000) on which I'd like to try installing FreeBSD. I've already failed to make 7.0 work on this box and was wondering if you have information about the behavior of the upcoming 7.1 on this hardware. I've been following the "HT1000 chipset errata saga" thread, and the commits by sos@ to CVS (around Jan 2008), but have
