Call routing between two Asterisk boxes using SIP not working ...
Hello there! I need some help to configure two Asterix boxes to route calls using SIP. I followed the instructions present at this site: "http://astbook.asteriskdocs.org/en/2nd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/connecting_two_asterisk.html", but I couldn't get it working so far. The only difference, besides the names that I've used, is that I'm using realtime to retrieve all information. Both boxes registrate on the other perfec...

Monitor problem, Asterisk 1.2.13
Hi guys, I'm running Asterisk 1.2.13 on a Debian Linux system (that was just the version that was packaged for it). I've been using monitor() to record calls, with fairly satisfactory results - at least until the last few months. I've been recording VoIP calls, and using monitor() with no arguments, so I'm getting separate wav files for each leg (both use ALAW, BTW), and

This is usually ok, but it gets problematic if the cell phone is a

Building a System.
So, people have recommended building a system from scratch, start with a CentOS base and installing asterisk and all of the other utilities. I've only used Trixbox for my business system. I'm wondering what surprises I'd run into. Right now, I know I'd need the OS, Asterisk, something like FreePBX, I have a x100p card so I'd need Zaptel, does that come with asterisk?

Really Silly Question From Total Newbie
Hello All - I've been poking around the past few weeks, trying to familiarize myself with all of this. I am new to Linux, VoIP and Asterisk -- to be complete. This is my first exposure to all of these technologies. I installed AsteriskNow on my old dual Pentium 833mhz Dell PowerEdge 2400 and the install went well. I can log in and poke around in Linux and I even configured the box to be
