Asterisk as Front-End for Artisoft Televantage 6
Anyone had experience 'marrying' the two? We had setup * to front end Artisoft's Televantage. It works with some issues need to be resolved: - Inbound calls could not properly handled and routed by Televantage's Call Classifier. It goes directly to the Televantage's default auto attendant. Correct digits not being passed by * to Televantege? - The caller's Ca...

Wildcard '*.' matches inproper files (for SAMBA DOS clients)
...mask = 0775 | hosts allow = 172.16.,172.17.,172.18. | |[homes] | path = %H | read only = No | browseable = No | |[ferrum] | path = /ferrum | read only = No | Description of the problem: Using DOS clients (MSCLIENT basic/full redirector, MSLANMAN client, Artisoft Lantastic 7.0 TCP client) when I issue command 'del *.' the files of file name like ?????.?? ?????.? ????.??? ????.?? ????.? ???.??? ... are removed. The same clients (identicaly configured) behave properly when connecting to native MS NT 4.0 Server. I suspect that is why our DOS Clipper...

Inbound call handling in Asterisk
I'm new to asterisk but I've been managing an Artisoft Televantage server for about 2 years. My question is, does Asterisk has the capability to 'classify calls' based on the dialed number? This is called 'Call Classifier' in Televantage jargon wherein it lets call center agents identify callers, the company they are calling, intelligen...

problem with * and Howlink CL-100 ip phone
I'm trying to use a Howlink CL-100 ip phone with * It's h323 phone with very limited protocol support. But it's enough that I can use it to dial netmeeting client and artisoft pbx just fine. When I try to dial my * with it using either chan_h323 or oh323, it seems to fail on negotiating H245. Maybe this phone doesn't support it? I've used all different versions of pwlib/openh323 from most recent to older ones like 1.4.9 and both chan_h323 and oh323 and have n...

My contribution to the issue of code- reversal
...eal dilemma in my business: the Visual Voice PRI dll had a bug that considered unanswered any call after ringing for 20 seconds. This bug was in fact killing my business, because for international calling, the setup of the call was already close to 20 seconds on many cases. Furthermore, the vendor, Artisoft, had cowardly sold the software to Dialogic, and Intel-Dialogic had killed the product. There was no support. I had to bite the bullet and buy a reverse-assembler (IDA-Pro), from a Belgium company. I had to lock myself down in the lab for a week, until I understood the location of exactly the right...

TeleVantage Client 8
Hello. I am trying to run TeleVantage Client 8.00.5556 on Wine but it doesn't work all the way. I have done the following, after some tips here and there: Wine 1.2 under Ubuntu 10.04 in a VMware Player as I am testing. OS version set to Windows 7 Server is running on Windows 2003 on the LAN workgroup and has windows clients today (something I had hoped to change) Client installed through

Legacy Toshiba Phones
I found some postings from Google (notably from Mark Spencer) about successful integration of a legacy Toshiba Strata system and Asterisk. I am also facing that current dilemma. The general legacy solutions that I can come up with is very easy -- either making Asterisk a "proxy" (or frontdoor) to the Toshiba system, or have it operate behind the Toshiba via regular extensions. I'm

On-Hook ADSI
Hello list, I have reason to believe that ADSI can be spoken to phones even when they're onhook. Is this true? Does anyone know? Right now, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do anything to an onhook channel other than ring it. Does this require a magic application and some serious voodoo? Any pointers? I got onto this idea because I noticed that whenever I got voice mail on a
