Problem of a function I wrote
Hello everyone,
I have been working on a code which simply repeatedly appends a number
into a vector and write a file. However, it could not be properly
implemented when I use it. It works when I run it line by line. I
wonder what is the problem and I appreciate anyone who is willing to
help.
The function and the example code is attached. Any advice is appreciated!
Best,

sum elements in the vector
My target has an instruction that adds up all elements in the vector and
stores the result in a register. I'm trying to implement it in my compiler
but I'm not sure even where to start.
I did look at other targets, but they don't seem to have anything like it (
I could be wrong. My experience with LLVM is limited, so if I missed it,
I'd appreciate if someone could point it out ).

[OT] My appreciation for Dovecot
Hi guys!
I recently switched to Dovecot from Courier with qmail+vpopmail backend.
I'm really happy with the switch as all use-cases are more stable and
much much faster than before.
And the build process is much better as with Courier :)
Just wanted to express my appreciation!

I would appreciate some help with clustering
I have a binary vector whose length is known.
Such a vector contains an unspecified number of 1s.
My goal is
1. to generate as many clusters as the number of 1s
2. to place the 1 as much as possible at the center of its own cluster
Example. Say I have the following binary vector:
v <- c(0,0,1,0,0,0,0,1,0,1,0,0)
Then I have to get 3 clusters.
I can generate a matrix containing the distance of

Plot means with error bars - A novice needs help
Hello,
I'd appreciate a suggestion on how to construct plots (barplots?) that use
means on the Y axis instead of density/count. I'd also like to use groups
and plot error or confidence interval bars on these graphs. I know this is a
read the manual situation. I'd appreciate help with what to read, or your
benevolence with some sample code.
I've looked at lattice and gplots2, but

SOHO colour laser printer recommendations
Hi List,
I'd really appreciate some recommendations for colour laser printers for
use with CentOS. It's for light home use with CentOS 5 and CentOS 6 systems.
Must have:
1. Colour. Quality not that important as mainly for kids school project
type of stuff.
2. Ethernet connectivity - want something I can plug into the network

can R be run without installation on to a computer
I have been trying for a year to get approval to install R on a work
computer and am not optimistic of a positive reply in the near future. I
was considering whether an option might be to run R from a CD/USB stick. I
looked through the installation manual but could see no mention of this option.
If it is possible to run R from a CD or a USB stick without installation to
a computer, I would

Call for testing: OpenSSH-6.0
Hi,
OpenSSH 6.0 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing
on as many platforms and systems as possible. This release contains a
couple of new features and changes and bug fixes. Testing of the new
sandboxed privilege separation mode (see below) would be particularly
appreciated.

How to programmatically save a web-page using R (mimicking Command+S)
Hi,
I would appreciate if someone can give me a pointer on how to save a
webpage programmatically using R.
For example, let say I have this webpage open in my browser:
http://www.bseindia.com/stock-share-price/dabur-india-ltd/dabur/500096/
When manually I save this page, I just press Command+S (using Mac) and
then this page get saved in hard-disk
Now I want R to mimic this same job that I do
