Urgently Need Solution
I''m using scriptaculous'' SlideUp and SlideDown effects to animate a menu. Specifically, I SlideUp, make some CSS changes, and SlideDown. All works well, except that for a split second in between, the element''s display becomes ''none'' and the other menu item jump into the space. I haven''t been able to find any way to force an element to retain

Re: Codec Issue on IAX trunk? (Solved)
...he config a little more and found that the error message I got was really only coming from one side, and not the other. I restarted asterisk, no dice. I stopped asterisk, recompiled from exactly the same source, started up again, and all is well. Don't know what's behind that. Hmm. Anyhoo, thanks for the user/peer setup and your time! Thanks, Noah

RE: how to evaluate responseText as an array?
getSelectedGridData()[getSelectedRow()] = eval(response.responseText); I believe that will work. Compaq V2000 laptop no USB recognized
To continue here with problems on this compaq v2000 laptop, I put kernel source on a USB disk and plugged it into the v2000. NOTHING IS recognized. I tried to manually mount the disk and nothing either... I thought USB was well established.... I thought trying to recompile the kernel for realtek support might get my networking going... I am stuck??? Jerry -------------- next part

rant on browser makers (was something about updating TD''s)
...k the w3c should''ve picked up on their filter concept. Maybe changed the syntax or whatever, but I want css gradients, opacity, blurring, drop-shadows, etc, etc (not sure IE does all of those). I''ve wanted them for years, and I don''t think I''m in the minority. Anyhoo, sorry if I seem whiny today; I need a good rant now and again to feel better. I must need a nap or something :) Greg

question about Sortables
So, is there any way to specify a sortable to only do a callback when the dragged item is dropped? As it is, the onChange is called whenever you move the draggable to a new element (even if you don''t drop it), but I''d rather only call my function after they drop it to avoid unnecessary additional server calls. It looks like Droppable supports an ''onDrop'', but

in_place_editor is missing load_text_url option
...</p> <%= in_place_editor( editme2'', :url => "update_text", :load_text_url => "return_unformatted_text", :rows => 20 )%> aside: notice that I elided the :cols option in my example because in_place_editor is missing the cols option as well... Anyhoo, so my questions are: 1. is this a worthy change? 2. what is the process for getting the change reflected in "edge"? 3. do you think we should add the rest of the missing options (e.g. cols) while we''re about it? Or is the prevailing philosophy that if you need to do "sop...

daemon use-case questions
...atch, that query_all_workers() seems to be broken in the trunk r302 (status for all workers is always nil). So my workaround for now is to use ask_status(): t_response = MiddleMan.query_all_workers t_response.each {|k,v| puts "#{k}: #{MiddleMan.ask_status(:worker => k)}" } Anyhoo, that''s it. That really rambled on longer than I thought it would. Please let me know if I can clarify any of my questions, and thanks to everyone for their patience with my long-windedness. Slow Transfer Speeds (I have read the HOWTO)
Hello, I've been having a few troubles with samba 3. I can only get 4MB/sec writing to the FreeBSD server that it is running on. As its on a 100Mbit network I was expecting at least 6-7MB/sec. I've included the smb.conf below is there anything obvious that I have missed from the config that can be seen as a performance gain or does anyone have any ideas for non samba items that can

Null Text Fields

autofs handling of nis maps - Centos4
I have the following nis map (auto.facvs) * -vers=3 &:/disk1 Which allows hosts that have /disk1 exported to be mounted to /facvs/$hostname It works fine, but on Centos4, it allows me to cd /facvs/foo (where foo isn't a real host out there) I find it has mounted my local /disk1 as /facvs/foo. It seems to be ignoring the key in the map pertaining to the host if it's not a valid

ztdummy compile again
...ented. I did have app_conference running, but today I upgraded asterisk to 1.0.9 and it stopped working. I've tried following the instructions for compiling app_conference on 1.0.7 but it didn't work. So I went back to ztdummy (I've not had any luck getting this to compile on FC2). Anyhoo, I've tried again and once again ztdummy fails to compile and the various disparate instructions on what is needed to get it running are not helping. If I run make linux26 then the zaptel drivers start to compile but then spews out a load of errors. Anyone have any ideas? ============SNIP...

Some diffs to libshout for MacOSX
Hi, I'm part of a project developing the open source SndKit and MusicKit, which are ObjC frameworks originally from NeXTSTEP, but now on MacOSX and GNUstep. We use libshout.a in part of the SndKit to enable us to schedule and process audio to get sent to shoutcast/icecast servers - pretty cool. Anyway, when compiling libshout on MacOSX it fails because it does not have sys/poll.h, but
