Labelling curves on graphs
...ce each label so that
its baseline is on its curve, thus without overlaying the
curve with the text. So maybe a "displaced" analogue of the
way contour() does it (including alignment of the text) may be OK.
Anothe possibility, for instance, is to draw lines from the ends
of the curves to antries in a plotted table of Z-values. This
could end up looking very untidym, though.
I grant that this is a vague query. I'm still trying to form a
clear view of how it ought to be approached; and I don't have
R code to refer to and experiment with (that of contour() is
hidden in its "meth...

smbpasswd and shadow passwords
Hi everyone, I'm still debuging my installation of samba. in
/textdocs/DIAGNOSIS.txt under test 7, it suggested that
- you have shadow passords (or some other password system) but didn't
compile in support for them in smbd
How do I check if my shadow passwords isn't compiled in support for them in
smbd, if they are not, how do I go about compiling them?
- you enabled password

R workspace
Dear all,
I m using R version 1.3.1 under linux (Red Hat).
When i left my session, naturally i have the question
Save workspace image? [y/n/c]?
I said n because I want to remove all the contain of my workspace.
Then I left R with q().
When I open new session I have the R welcome message and
[previously save workspace restored]. By typing ls() I find
what I have normally removed and I want to

[LLVMdev] SIV tests in LoopDependence Analysis, Sanjoy's patch
Hi Hal, Preston!
Sorry for the delay! Got busy with some offline work.
I've worked on my previous code to calculate direction and distance
vectors whenever possible (strong SIV, basically). I think the
current code is much clearer and would like your opinions on it.
I have attached the patch and also pushed to the github repo I
mentioned [1].
Thanks!

Sieve scripts replication not working
Hi all!
I am a long-time dovecot user/admin on my home server, but only recently
tried to configure replication. Everything seems to work except sieve
scripts replication. When I upload new one on the server A, it does not
replicate to server B, even if it seemingly tries to, according to debug
logs. The log antry says: Replication requested by
'sieve_storage_sync_transaction_begin',

[LLVMdev] SIV tests in LoopDependence Analysis, Sanjoy's patch
Gents,
I spent some time reading over Sanjoy's patch for LoopDependenceAnalysis.
Unfortunately, an early version of these notes escaped; this is the
complete review.
First off, I agree with his choice to implement the SIV
tests. For scientific Fortran, the SIV (and the simpler ZIV) tests cover
about 85% of the cases in practice. For C and C++, I expect the percentage
will be much higher.
