Undefined Method Angst After Rails / Ruby / Gem Updates
I have what appears to be a problem accessing methods from within an
application. I can access them from irb, but not from within the
app. In other words:
irb(main):001:0> require ''rubygems''
=> true
irb(main):002:0> require ''haml''
=> true
irb(main):003:0> Haml.respond_to?(''init_rails'')

ipsec problem
...the other subnet on the samba server.
The only combination that not works is win98 to samba (yes
smbclient/linux works too).
And I was not searching for the computer by name I was only searching by
the ip address.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem can be?
thanks for any answers

Acoustic boot-menu?
...ible to boot
different OS-kernels.
Currently I use "MENU IMMEDIATE" and hotkeys which work fine.
However I do not really know when the boot sequence has reached the menu for
this purpose it would be nice to to ring a bell.
Any hint how to do this?

callerid name modification (or adding)
Is there any way to take an incoming callerid string and remove the
given "name" part of it and replace it w/ something arbitrary, or add to
a blank name string (possibly by looking up the number in a database)?
Thanks,

moving a samba pdc
...config files:
/etc/passwd
/etc/group
/etc/smb.conf
/etc/smbpasswd
/etc/secrets.tdb
The new server has the same name and ip address like the old one.
But now, the w2k users can no more download their profiles. (w2k says
something like access denied)
What do I have overlooked?

It would be easy to do with pxeboot, but it's an USB flash drive I'm
talking about.

validate_uniqueness_of {combination of fields} ???
I''ve looked at the validates documentation and it appears that validates_uniqueness_of works on only one field at a time. So I can, for example, validate that "sam" is unique to the record set, and that "smith" is unique to the record set.
My problem is that each record includes two fields, the _combination_ of which must be unique to the record set, but each of

Windows domain group policies
Hello,
Does anybody have an idea how I can set a group membership to a domain user?
I don't wan't to set the group membership on each computer one by one.
And all Windows admins I asked, doesn't have any anticipation how this
will work, if they don't have a button for click it.

If changing terminology makes things clearer (and I think it does here,
especially for non-native speakers), then I'm all for it, but not just
because the Americans are trying to solve their political angst.
ALL words have overtones, and all the variations of
English/American/Strine/Pidgin/Whatever-else-I-can't-name make life very
difficult. I was never able to participate properly when the subject of
race came up on Groklaw - "black" was seen as an offensive and banned
word, and of...

Mail does not arrive at my server.
I run under FC5. I want to setup a mail server with postfix (already
runnung) and dovecot. Once this i working I add spamassassin and clamav.
I setup postfix and can send emails. When replying to these emails they do
not get to my server (I checked in the Maildir directory of the user, there
is no file)
The server has 2 NICs. there is a firewall where I opened the port 143 (that
is for IMAP?)

Louis; re:your repo and Ubuntu 18.04

So, how do you all handle the Debian, IIRC, two year cycle? Do Debian upgrades go off pretty smoothly, so you have a 99% chance of moving from, say, jessie to stretch without any hassles other than mostly "apt-get distro upgrade" or whatever it is?
Some of that angst gets less potent as more stuff moves to VM's etc. But even then, it's not a totally trivial concern either.

But given what you say about this release just happening to work on 18.04 - makes me think we should absolutely not rely on any future version functioning on 18.04. Correct? We m...

for me to forget that the net is a big place,
and the planet even larger, and it''s always
daytime somewhere. :-)
Finally, finally, I realized that I could run
the spinner/spawner combination without the
-d (daemon) option provided in the SwitchTower
docs.
And, after much angst, there was the answer!
In order to spawn an fcgi process, a machine
must have a binary installed by Lighttpd,
fcgi-spawner. The machine providing the FCGI
processes is not running Lighty, but the
requirement is still there.
So, in the future, if you''re setting up FCGI

Ist there a possibility on MacOSX to import Graphics into MSOffice
Applications and resize them there without decreased quality? When I import

use metafile format which can easily be resized in ppt and word. What is the

What are the differences between systemd and non-systemd Linux distros?
Is systemd implemented in all the latest Linux distros?
Please advise. Thank you.

My advice is to go and read up on the original design goals of systemd.
The information is out there. We had this discussion here years ago
when we were staring and the impending transition.
Read the archives on the angst the change engendered and the adjustment
to the new methodology.
They say that the Internet never forgets, so you should be able to find
the original discussions and make your own judgment call.

Notwithstanding the FSB aspect of the source: If your own people
habitually lie to you about such things in the name of National
Security - which seems to have replaced the belief in God in the minds
of many; presumably as it serves the same purpose - then where else
can you go but to the opposi...
