R 3.4 has broken C++11 support
Hi! Well, my linux distribution has very recent versions of everything, so a working C++11 compiler exists: $ gcc --version | head -n1 gcc (GCC) 6.3.1 20170306 Could wrong ./configure options be at fault here? See: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=r-devel#n40 My sessionInfo(): $ R-devel --slave -e 'sessionInfo()' | head -n3 R Under development (unstable)

However, GCC 4.x definitely has issues building LLVM, at least on ia64. If you want to use LLVM in anger, I'd stick with 3.4 for now. Duraid

Just need to vent
Sometimes the direction of UI development in gnome really angers me. For example, when selecting a font for the gedit text editor - there is no way to ask it to only show monospace fonts. It's a fricken text editor, that should be the default - meaning you have to do something special to get fonts shown that aren't monospace. Seriously, who is in c...

Yes, I'd like to, but debian's version segfaults on llvm..... Best regards, Oleg.

Restarting MOH
Hi list, I'm streaming live mp3 streams (web radios) via mplayer and mpg123 using MusicOnHold. Often, one or two of the streams die during the day and I have to restart (not reload) Asterisk to bring it back. "moh reload" on the console doesn't do anything. This is suboptimal if there are active callers, of course. Is there any way to restart the MOH system without

Difficulty understanding sem errors / failed confirmatory factor analysis
Hello, I'm trying to fit a pretty simple confirmatory factor analysis using the sem package. There's a CFA example in the examples, which is helpful, but the output for my (failing) model is hard to understand. I'd be interested in any other ways to do a CFA in R, if this proves troublesome. The CFA is replicating a 5 uncorrelated-factor structure (for those interested, it is a
