Out of disk space at 2 GB?
On an ext3 filesystem, what would cause the system to claim it is out of disk space for a program writing information to disk, when df -h shows ample GB available and the file is being written to local disk rather than an nfs-mounted filesystem? I believe the hard drive is good. Ideas welcome. Thanks. Scott

F-test degree of freedoms in lme4 ?
I have a problem moving from multistratum aov analysis to lmer. Traffic Shaping
...ng to do is this; I would like to have traffic shaping performed on the following protocols: HTTP, RDP, GRE, PPTP, SIP and IAX. Obviously I would like to have highest priority set for voice packets so much so that the general http traffic does not impede on the voice packets. I would like to have ample bandwidth available for RDP so that I am able to connect to a remote site and not have too much lag but ample enough that most tasks can be done. HTTP traffic would possibly have the lowest priority of all the protocols that I have listed. So to clarify priority would be something such as this:...

Maximization of a loglikelihood function with double sums
Dear R experts, Attached you can find the expression of a loglikelihood function which I would like to maximize in R. So far, I have done maximization with the combined use of the mathematical programming language AMPL (www.ampl.com) and the solver SNOPT (http://www.sbsi-sol-optimize.com/manuals/SNOPT%20Manual.pdf). With these tools, maximization is carried out in a few seconds. I wonder if that

WYSIWYG Editors and Rails
Hi everyone, I''m currently investigating re-writing our School CMS application in Rails and the only drawback I can see is there isn''t an ample supply (if any) of WYSIWYG In-browser editors written with a raw Ruby backend. We currently use KTML4 which is written with PHP as a base. I''m interested to hear from anyone who''s integrated a PHP based editor into a rails application and how you interfaced between the two. Non-linearly constrained optimisation
Dear R Users, I am looking for some guidance on setting up an optimisation in R with non-linear constraints. Here is my simple problem: - I have a function h(inputs) whose value I would like to maximise - the 'inputs' are subject to lower and upper bounds - however, I have some further constraints: I would like to constrain the values for two other separate function f(inputs) and

nonlinear constrained optimization
Hi. I need some advises on how to use R to find pi (i is the index) with the following objective function and constraint: max (sum i)[ f(ai, bi, pi) * g(ci, di, pi) * Di ] s.t. (sum i)[ f(ai, bi, pi) * Di * pi] / (sum i)[ f(ai, bi, pi) * Di ] <= constant f and g are diffentiable. So, I am thinking of optim with method = "BFGS"? But wonder how to include the

[LLVMdev] Tool to convert to backend assembly instruction file "llc"

[PATCH 5/5] Create a hole in high linear address space
Allow compile time creation of a hole at the high end of linear address space. This makes accomodating a hypervisor a much more tractable problem by giving it ample playground to live in. Currently, the hole size is fixed at config time; I have experimented with dynamically sized holes, and have a later patch that developes this potential, but it becomes much more useful once the exact negotiation of linear address space with the hypervisor is defined.
