Adit Asterisk Cabling Connundrum.
I am hoping to replace my Nortel 8x24 switch with Asterisk. Right now my cabling comes from my outside phone box into my office and into a punchdown block and leaves the punchdown block as an amphenol connector which currently plugs into the Nortel swicth. A second amphenol connector them plugs into the switch and extends to another punchdown block that I believe carries the lines throughout the office to Cat 5 plug in which the individual phones plug into. Do I plug the ampehnol connector tha...

Amphenol cables?
A little off-topic maybe, but it's still for the Adit used with Asterisk. ;) I wonder where I can buy 50 pin Amphenol cables, with connector on one side, and open cables on the other for mounting in our own patch panels. In Europe, or Sweden preferably. It's said to be very common on telcos, but I can't find it for sale anywhere! Thanks!

Source for 50-pin amphenol cables?
I'm looking for a source for 50-pin amphenol cables, the ones used to connect Adtran's to punch down blocks. Preferably, one that's mail order and takes orders over the internet. Thanks.

Tellabs Echo Canceller
I am getting ready to experiment with the Tellabs 2752 echo canceller. I have a 255D shelf (and power supply), but am struggling a little on connecting the echo canceller to a PRI. The shelf has 4 25-pair amphenol connectors. The two on the line side are marked "Receive In" and "Send Out". The 2 connectors on the drop side are marked "Send In" and "Receive Out". I will be connecting the echo canceller between a PRI and our asterisk box. We recieve our PRI on an RJ-...

AT&T T1 Cable Needed!
...a T1 interface for a AT&T (became Lucent) System75 (uses same cards as Definity). I would take a crack at making a cable but can't determine the pinout for a cable and it is not apparent from the board. Asking you guys makes sense as one of you may have one of these systems. The cable has a amphenol male D50 connector on one end and probably a rj45 on the other. I also don't know if any other devices are needed between the System75 and asterisk The DS1 Tie Trunk card is a TN722B. Any information would be helpful. FS: Zhone Channel Bank
...mber: Z-PLEX-10-24S/O). It functions as a channel bank, router, and CSU/DSU, combining T1, analog voice, and data. D4, SF, and ESF line formats are supported with AMI or B8ZS coding. It has dual T1 jacks, one ethernet jack, one serial port, one V.35 port, and 24 analog pairs available via 50-pin Amphenol connector (I'll also include two Leviton 41600-I break-out boxes to separate the Amphenol 50-pin connector to 25 individual RJ-11 connectors---these are worth around $25 themselves). Further it comes with AC power cable and serial cable. The Zhone Z-Plex is known to work with Asterisk (search...

Hard Ground (On Ring)
...d get worse, it was surely a problem of Verizon's. Verizon sent a field rep out today and he told our secretary (I was busy) that there was a hard ground on the Ring portion of the line. Looking at the setup we have the NID connected directly to a 66 Punchdown block which then spans out to an amphenol 50 connector that connects to the Adtran. Could the Adtran be making a hardground anywhere? Has anyone seen/heard of this issue before? Unfortuantely, my background is computers and not electrical, so I am lost... Any help would be greatly appreciated, Brent

asterisk with an external predictive dialer
Does anyone have any experience using asterisk with an external predicitve dialer, like MediaTel? Specifically: The predictive dialer dials out over T1 circuits. It connects to asterisk via amphenol cable from an fxs card in the dialer to asterisk with a tdm2406 fxo card. In the analog world, the dialer dials out through the t1 circuit, and the fxs card is plugged into a 66 block so the extensions are basically hard wired. The phone is off hook, and when the dialer completes a call, it beeps...

Some questions re. T1 cards & QoS
I've been asked to assess the cost of implementing Asterisk with a single T1 line in one of our offices. I've had plenty of experience w/ TDM400 cards, but T1 is new for me so a couple of questions: 1) Will I need a digital or analogue interface card? I expect digital is the answer, but the Digium web site said something about analogue cards being able to support "provider T1

Best echo-free and trouble-free system?
We currently have a 15-phone system using Asterisk, a combination of analog phones/Grandstream HandyTone-286 and Grandstream BT101s, and 4 X100Ps connected to analog lines. The system works well except for the occasional echo problem. I have all the echo parameters configured, removed all the extra incoming analog lines except to the PBX, etc. following all the advice on the wiki and on the

Asterisk SIP phones to Cisco Unity via CCM4.0SIP Trunk
...ksys/Sipura 941, ( SIP ), but the core problem is that you can't use SIP phones with CCM. I have a SIP trunk between asterisk and ccm. Cisco IAD2421 with Asterisk
...submitted at http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_advanced_page.php?bug_id=0002982 (Asterisk bug ID 0002982) which improves the reliability of the IAD by hanging up calls when the IAD and Asterisk get out of sync. More details are in the bug report. My IAD2421 provides 16 analog pots channels via an Amphenol connector. It speaks MGCP with Asterisk and does minimal (if any) actual call processing internally. It is, however, also a full router with IPsec and SSH (if you have a recent enough version of the IOS and beefy enough hardware). Mine includes 1 Fast Ethernet port, 1 onboard Serial 0, and 1 T-1...

ZAP CHANNEL QUESTION.
After buying some additional lines from my telco, I recently had my phone vendor wire the additional lines from my phone box into an amphenol connector that's plugged into my channel bank (Adit 600). However, although I make the following changes in my zaptel.conf and my zapata.conf files respectively and then reboot, the new channels, when selected for an outbound call, resume a dialtone after I dial the outbound number. The othe...

Asterisk Legacy PBX integration and fail-over question,
Hi All, I have a (legacy) Praxton PBX, it has a PRI T1 input card and 64 analog extensions through 4 amphenol connectors. We receive 12 voice channels (other 12 are idle) and have 100 DIDs. No caller ID thru PRI though. The Praxton box is amazing in terms of configuration and flexibility but has no VoIP support and the company went poof and it is no longer supported, nor spare parts are available,...
