Repair Filesystem prompt , after inode has illegal blocks
...up from
this. We do have a good backup for restoring unrecoverable files - i.e. I assume I am going
to end up asking fsck to repair the filesystem itself and then clean up any mess that
results.
This is fsck 1.39 , Linux version 2.6.18-92.1.18.el5 , Red Hat 4.1.2-42
thanks for any tips.

SUMMARY : multipath using defaults rather than multipath.conf contents for some devices (?) - why ?
...t parses the conf file , and exactly what entry it ends up using , which
would then appear in /var/log/messages and /var/log/dmesg, since it seems relatively easy to end up
matching a device spec you didn't expect, and the effects on performance are subtle so
easy to overlook this.

3ware 9550SX and CentOS
I'm getting a couple of systems that are arriving with the new 3ware
9550sx controller. Does anyone know when this will be natively
supported by CentOS?
Has anyone built an RPM of the driver/module for this new controller?

multipath using defaults rather than multipath.conf contents for some devices (?) - why ?
...h settings appear to be entirely the defaults, and not what we have set.
(And conversely, its not due to the conf file not being read at all - since the server with two controllers
is using the correct config for one of them , but not the other.)
thanks for any tips and I will summarise.

Panics and freeze using age0
I'm running FreeBSD 7.1-PRERELEASE over Asus P5Q motherboard.
Such board comes with an nic requiring age0 driver.
When the nic is under load, such trasferring big amount of data
over gigabit connection (let's say some gigabyte backups),
the computer hangs, sometimes with panic, sometimes freezing.
Before that i was using an Intel nic with em0 driver
and 7.0-Stable#2.. and that

Is this with the kernel and xen from -unstabele/3.0.3 ? Have you
changed the config?
What storage device do you have? What NIC?
Are you setting mem=4096M on the Xen command line? If

problems with changing Unix UID's and Samba acting as a PDC
I am using samba 2.2.1a in the following environment:
Solaris 8+RedHat 8+win2k/XP clients
files are on a Network Appliance fileserver
The samba server is used as a PDC for authentication with the NIS server.
We don not have a windows server.
Recently I was asked to change the Unix UID's of our employees.
On the Unix side you modify NIS and run the chown command on all the
users files. I than
