different .Rprofile files for different projects
Dear list, First off, let me offer my apologies, I know this is a very basic question. After amassing a large number of objects (from multiple projects) in one working directory, I'd like to be able to start using different directories, just for the sake of organization alone. But I have no idea how to do this. I am using a mac, running R 2.5. Searching the FAQ online I find: 12.1 How can I...

Possible to Customize File Naming Scheme?
...ld be made configurable, so I could change it to match my needs and others could change it to match theirs. In the interests of REALLY being able to use the elegantly simple idea of each mail being a separate file, I'm trying to get more out of that great pile of folders and files I'm amassing in my mail archive server. The more use I can make of them with other software other than dovecot (i.e. data crawling, indexing, easy recovery in a catastrophe, etc) the more valuable this format is. Is this possible?

Samba patches - where best to send them?
Hi Folks, Where is the best place to feed back patches and problem reports for Samba these days? Should I be using "samba-patches@samba.org"? This list? The samba-technical list? The samba-bugs address bounces back an auto-response telling one to use samba-patches for well-formed patches, but if the Jitterbug web interface is to be believed then submissions to samba-patches seem to be

Centos %.0 failed to recognize my video card
I tried to install Centos 5.0 yesterday and it was a complete failure. The installer could not detect my vidio card. The vidio card is a nvidia geforce fx GeForce FX (generic). This is the same vidio card that was perfectly recognized in Centos 4.3 The anaconda installer repartitioned my disk and installed a custom selection of software. This took about 1 hr. When I rebooted it would no start x

DAHDI phantom pickup when ringing
Hi, I've been experiencing trouble with my DAHDI channels for some time and have finally decided to try and resolve the issue. Essentially, the problem I am having is that when a call comes in, and my DAHDI phones therefore ring, Asterisk thinks that one of the handsets has picked up to answer the incoming call - whereas in actual fact it is still on hook. The call then gets instantly

Wikis for R
...quantity of content, this proposed system is not worth much. No one will use it without content -- I don't care what fancy tool we use to create or manage such a thing. I suspect that much of the code to start this gallery could come from R tips (http://www.ku.edu/~pauljohn/R/Rtips.html). After amassing a good size collection of code, allow the public to start adding to the code (but not the keywords identified in #1 above.) 3) ** Link 1 and 2 above, which are on the wiki, with the existing help files that get installed with R **. So when a user chooses "HTML Help" from the Help menu...

Yager on ZFS
Not sure if it''s been posted yet, my email is currently down... http://weblog.infoworld.com/yager/archives/2007/10/suns_zfs_is_clo.html Interesting piece. This is the second post from Yager that shows solaris in a pretty good light. I particularly like his closing comment: "If you haven''t checked out ZFS yet, do, because it will eventually become ubiquitously implemented

I am getting a rake aborted error and I suspect that I am missing a package on my system since the app works for a friend on this computer. Here is the terminal output of the error: anita@anitas-computer:~/sandbox/shovell$ rake db:migrate (in /home/anita/sandbox/shovell) rake aborted! Could not find table ''stories'' (See full trace by running task with --trace)
