different .Rprofile files for different projects
Dear list, First off, let me offer my apologies, I know this is a very basic question. After amassing a large number of objects (from multiple projects) in one working directory, I'd like to be able to start using different directories, just for the sake of organization alone. But I have no idea how to do this. I am using a mac, running R 2.5. Searching the FAQ online I find: 12.1 How ca...

Possible to Customize File Naming Scheme?
...ld be made configurable, so I could change it to match my needs and others could change it to match theirs. In the interests of REALLY being able to use the elegantly simple idea of each mail being a separate file, I'm trying to get more out of that great pile of folders and files I'm amassing in my mail archive server. The more use I can make of them with other software other than dovecot (i.e. data crawling, indexing, easy recovery in a catastrophe, etc) the more valuable this format is. Is this possible?

Ronaldo anounces retirement from football
...y 2010, Ronaldo announced that he will retire after the 2011 season, signing a two-year contract extension with the Corinthians at the same time.[4] He is widely considered by experts and fans as one of the greatest players of all time.[5] Ronaldo has played for Brazil in 97 international matches, amassing 62 goals. He was a part of the Brazilian squad that won the 1994 and 2002 World Cups. During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Ronaldo became the highest goalscorer in the history of the World Cup with his fifteenth goal, surpassing Gerd M?ller's previous record of 14. Ronaldo retired on 14 February...

Samba patches - where best to send them?
...was anything else that I needed to do. The samba-patches system looks like a nice idea - I like the idea of having the submitted fixes in a public forum where they can be reviewed by third parties, and the idea of encouraging contributors by giving a little public recognition and allowing them to amass a "score" based on their contributions is nice. I think that it is only going to work if someone does some editorial work and grades/sorts the contributions though. I don't claim to be a great developer, but if it would be helpful to have a BOFH who would reject or junk some of the c...

Centos %.0 failed to recognize my video card
...171b. This is why it must have happened. I had reported this problem when I was on the fedora core system. But Redhat did not do anything to correct the problem. I am stuck at Centos 4.3 forever. I am so frustrated I even tried Ubuntu but that would not recognize my usb 1.0 mouse. I am waiting to amass the cash necessary to buy an apple Imac. At least with there systems everything just works without problems. -- Richard Miles Federal Way WA. USA registered Linux user 46097

DAHDI phantom pickup when ringing
...hink that I had picked up the phone. However I didn't have any luck with that, either. There is a 'debounce' parameter which is great in theory, but only worked when I hung up the phone - it had no impact on picking it up in the first place. So I'm throwing the question open to the amassed wisdom of [asterisk-users]. Can anybody perhaps point me in the right direction of what I can try next? Thank you! Wikis for R
...quantity of content, this proposed system is not worth much. No one will use it without content -- I don't care what fancy tool we use to create or manage such a thing. I suspect that much of the code to start this gallery could come from R tips (http://www.ku.edu/~pauljohn/R/Rtips.html). After amassing a good size collection of code, allow the public to start adding to the code (but not the keywords identified in #1 above.) 3) ** Link 1 and 2 above, which are on the wiki, with the existing help files that get installed with R **. So when a user chooses "HTML Help" from the Help m...

Yager on ZFS
Not sure if it''s been posted yet, my email is currently down... http://weblog.infoworld.com/yager/archives/2007/10/suns_zfs_is_clo.html Interesting piece. This is the second post from Yager that shows solaris in a pretty good light. I particularly like his closing comment: "If you haven''t checked out ZFS yet, do, because it will eventually become ubiquitously implemented

I am getting a rake aborted error and I suspect that I am missing a package on my system since the app works for a friend on this computer.
