not enough virtual memory
Greetings, I have been trying to install Cool Edit Pro 1.2. I'm running Mandrake 8.1, which came with Wine release 20010731. This is a dual-boot system with MS-DOS 6.22 in addition to Mandrake 8.1. There NO version of Windoze of any kind is installed. I have 512 MB of RAM; the DOS partition has 941 MB free and 777 permissions. I mount the CD-ROM drive, cd to it, and execute wine setup.exe

read only maildir subscriptions
Hello, I have some (possibly very simple) questions about subscriptions: I store my old mails in /home/oldmails/ in one Maildir where I have only read-only permissions (I cannot delete, create or modify any files). Under thunderbird, I can successfully log in and read my new mails, but I cannot subscribe (?) within thunderbird to oldmails (it is grey not black as other folders). What did I do

Samba 2.2.3a and password expiration?
...mplained that his Win2kSP2 complains that his password Is going to expire in 8 days. A while ago we changed from Win2k domain to a Samba 2.2.3a controlled domain. How do I disable the password expiration? I read the man pages and searched Google but couldn't find any hints about the issue. It almos seems like this expiration thing should not be happening at all...? Regards, Peter

Virtualization Options!
Hi, I'm searching for "virtualization options". I already take a look on VMware, but it needs too much MS software to work for my needs. Citrix needs less, but the key validation is still MS-AD. Now I'm taking a look at RHEV... and run into Oracle VM! Somebody had already take a look at Oracle VM? We need in primary a solid VM solution for an "enterprise

read only maildir
Hello All, I try to set up a read only maildir just as in the wiki, to no avail. The extra (public) namespace shows up but I can not susbscribe to it (in thunderbird) or if I change to that "directory" (in mutt), it is empty. Is it the problem mentioned in the wiki (SharedMailboxes#Subscriptions)? If yes, how can I see/use a folder which is not subscribeable? Any help would be

simple questions
Hello Everybody, I would like to use Dovecot on my desktop with imap but before doing the real migration I have some (very simple) questions: - Is there any way to log in with imap automatically ? That is, from localhost without any passwords. - Can Dovecot work with only readable maildirs? I want to avoid accidental e-mail loss, therefore on some maildir folder I have only read permissions.

ATA hangs up with fax detection on...
...ntly upgraded to Asterisk 1.4.22 and Zaptel 1.4.12.1 on their server and now there is a problem when a fax call is received. Basically when faxdetect=incoming is set in zapata.conf the call comes in and the fax extension dials a Linksys PAP2T where a fax machine is connected. The fax answers and almos immediately it hangs up and I get this: -- Executing [fax at default:1] Dial("Zap/2-1", "SIP/5001") in new stack -- Called 5001 -- Got SIP response 486 "Busy Here" back from 192.0.0.14 -- SIP/5001-09495388 is busy == Everyone is busy/congested a...

A little iptables help
Wondering if anyone is willing to give me a little assistance with some firewall rules. I think what I'm looking for is fairly simple, and I've been trying to use webmin's firewall module without success. I have a web server that I'd like to open up port 80 and forward a specific port for a select number of allowed ips. That's it. Everything else is dropped. allow: port 80

data volume option, is it present in current version of ocfs2
...[root@server ~]# rpm -qa | grep ocfs ocfs2console-1.2.2-1 ocfs2-tools-devel-1.2.2-1 ocfs2-2.6.9-42.EL-1.2.4-2 ocfs2-tools-1.2.2-1 i googled and found this datavolume option was taken from 1.2 but also it is quite needed for voting disk.I saw the dates of threads discussing this problem and it is almost 7 to 8 months back. how to make it work? is any new version available now? or how to fix it? thanks for any response. regards, Nirmal Tom.V

Advice on variable color stacked bar graphs?
Hello, I'm trying to create a stacked bar graph with variable coloring in each stacked bar; that is, one bar has say blue on top of red, the next one red on top of purple, etc. I also wanted to preserve the ability to stack graphs. Currently, the values for each bar, that is, the bottom values and the top values, are contained in separate vectors, with another pair of vectors specifying the

SIP<->*/ISDN<->PSTN calls almost impossible because of echo
Hi, I'm running an asterisk server using passive ISDN cards to connect to the PSTN. SIP to SIP calls on the local network are ok, but unfortunately the echo on outgoing calls (from a software SIP phone to PSTN) is horrible: you'll hear the echo coming back after about 3 seconds. I've been searching the mailing list archives for 'echo' and found out that (a little bit of?) echo
