RE: the "cisco vs. Linux" thread
FYI this topic has been covered on the Zebra and Quagga lists
- hardware processors, memory, NICs, etc
- software OS (Linux, *BSD), drivers, etc
I''ve been running a couple of Linux routers for about 2 years now, I''m
using
them as core routers so I bought a couple of rackmount "server" boxes
with
redundant PSUs and h/w RAID (1) for hotswap disks.

Is it possible for processes on a glusterfs server to read and write to

And if so how does this affect replication?
Thanks.

mod_proxy_balancer mod_rewrite permission issue
...write.
My question is, could this "Allow from all" be a latent security problem?
and is there anybody faced the same issue?
Could I miss something through the configuration or did the mongrel-apache
document miss something?
I am sorry my English is not very good.
Best wishes everyone,
Alfie ZHU

intermittent access this week
Hey team,
I'll be at sea on and off this week, and as such my Internet access will
depend on wifi availability while in port. 22a seems stable, but if any
critical problems arise, feel free to prepare a release and bug Alfie
to upload it.
On the brighter side, I expect to be extremely bored while offline so I'll
probably get some logcheck work done. <:
Cheers,

The following is reported by logcheck when inserting a USB joystick for

informed of.

call at the time the call is being parked.
How ever in my setup I hear nothing but if I dial the default parked
extension I get back the call.
Am I missing something? Or should I be using something like ParkAndAnnounce?
Thanks.

Bug#222240: Ask for frequency during install (logcheck)
hello,
the debconf configuration of logcheck was removed since woody release:
as logcheck's user base is targeting server admins,
we don't see the need of a debconf based question regarding the
frequency of logcheck. beside once per day is a good default.
a note was added to documentation README.Debian that this value
may be changed in /etc/cron.d/logcheck.
so these bugreports will be

[patch] logtail recheck permissions of offset files
...ore checking in that chown fix,
i wanted you to take a look.
tested on my workstation.
basicaly the patch takes care that logtail saves the
offset file with the correct permissions.
when playing around lately with file tampering
and those invoking logcheck as root.
i got similar output to #253998
Alfie may point out that i should not invoke logcheck
as root, but i better fix that before users complain.
patch shameless copied from perlfunc(1)
a++ maks
ps if you know a better solution of dropping root
privileges right from the start like
if [ $UID = 0 ]; then become logcheck.
i'd like to hea...

4 important bugs again <;
hello everyone,
thanks to todd 1.2.21 is out :)
every release getting better, i would like to get
consensus on these "important" bugs:
#252078 logtail: should depend on perl >= 5.8
sarge as any other modern linux distro use perl 5.8.x,
it's even inside of its base.
backports are under the peril of its author
if no one voices up, i'll close that bug in the next days.

Re: Bug#181699: #181699 Re: #181699 wine: vague error message: "dramatically effect" in what way?
...nstead let Wine
create its own fake windows drive automatically, and you then supply
some of the missing DLLs using Winetools. A link to Winetools can be
found on the Wine downloads page, along with packages for the latest
release of Wine.

Bug#286532: dnsmasq: misses message for DHCPINFORM due to 283331 fix
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.32
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
The fix for 283331 exposed a bug in the dnsmasq rules. The rule was
looking for DHCPINFO, but the actual message is DHCPINFORM. Prior to
the 283331 fix, the old rule worked, because the "[()[:alnum:]]+" part
of the rule matched the "RM" at the end of DHCPINFORM.

Bug#287184: logcheck overwriting ownership/permissions of /etc/logcheck/* on upgrades
Package: logcheck
Version: 1.2.32
Severity: important
In postinst logcheck "fixes" permissions of /etc/logcheck/* to 750.
In my (and others on #d-d) opinion ownership and permissions should be
preserved upon package upgrades. Logcheck must not screw with my
decision to make them world readable every time it configures.
